Ah, I remember this pic. Thank you. Not to the PCB in receiver, but to the ground of RX.

As i understand the schematic we need 2 cables with 2 wires and one screen each.
At the side of coil, screens are connected together with the shield of coil. At the other end screens are connected together to the Rx ground (this with 2 lines). Is it OK??

Hi smity
there are different version of ATXMEGA32, par examle ATXMEGA32D4 AU (cheaper) or ATXMEGA32A4 AU (more expensive).
They are pin/package compatible, but not with same in internal configuration/options.
Do you know if software coding is compatible with ATXMEGA32D4 AU version of ATXMEGA32?
Can ATXMEGA32D4 AU version be correct addressed by present source code?

with or without usb port i guess no need usb for this case ..right?
have seen TQFP 44A to quad dip adapter on ebay around 3 euro maybe useful to program swapping from main board

This is one way how to programming and upgrading XMega (via USB) and then incorporate XMega on "DIP" board to KROT2 PCB.
But you need to redesign KROT2 PCB to suit your "DIP" adapter on,
or resolder XMega for soldering in alredy designed KROT2 PCBs (later is not upgradable solution without programmer).
Otherwise you need USB to connect your AVR programmer to PC and then programming XMega32 directly on KROT2 PCB.
@smity: thanks for info.

The archive to correct the printed circuit board from the TCB and a list of components. Here's a link to the USB programmer "AVRISP mkII" http://radiodom.ucoz.ru/index/usb_pr...klon_quot/0-16 They will find the circuit board and software.

Video on KROT-2 tune-up settings:
Note: The "auto-balance" without deeply understanding of its functionality is not to touch. Put A = 0.
Some KROT-2 data:
Detecting depth:
Coin 25mm in diameter (soil ) up to 30-35 cm
Helmet ---- to 1.0m
Max depth: ---- Up to 3.0m
Sound ID selectable from 2 to 10 tones
Visual ID numerical on LCD 16x2
The principle of work: IB
Coil diameter of 25-30 cm
The possible range of operating frequencies 6-9 kHz
Supply voltage 4.8V
Nominal current consumption of less than 100 mA ( without backlight )
The basic functionality
* Modes: dynamic , static - pinpointer .
* The numerical and graphical display of VDI and amplitude.
* Multi-Tone sound indication of ferrous and nonferrous metals.
* Power Supply indication .
* Active discriminator step : -9 segments
Iron ID - 5 segments
* Sensitivity adjustment separately for B & W - from 0 to 9
* The availability of detuning (balance ) of the soil.
* Includes back-lights .
* The availability of automatic and manual modes of digital options :
Automatic or manual coil balance.
Automatic or manual settins on the coil resonance frequency.
Automatic or manual adjustment of the ADC readings to zero .
Automatic or manual tuning phase on ferrite .
Automatic or manual adjustment of the balance of the soil.
Manual adjustment of the TX working frequency.
Manual adjustment of the sensitivity of the receiving part .
Manual tuning voltage readings .
* User friendly and simple interface .
* Automatically record all settings in memory
* Easy setup for different IB coils
* Ability to create setting profile for a particular coil.

Author is in preparation (as acquiring PayPal, checking possible demand, international shipping possibilities etc.) to offer different KROT-2 kit's like: SMD PCB, SMD PCB & preprogrammed controller, fully populated PCB, etc. No DIP version of PCB in plan for now.
Independent of this a couple member here is in collecting all needed for building DIP version of KROT-2 (just started - still waiting for shipping parts).

hello wm6
so please give an info if you know something new
i have my fingers on some projects parallel
most time i need is not for soldering and collecting parts but for testing
it would be a big help to buy something like a diy kit or a prebuild pcb
which board design would you recommend for standard components (no smd)
the board from geo looks good
but the controller a a little bit small for my taste
i would prefer a dip package controller too
thanks for reply and kind regards

Of course you can use something like controller on USB-programmable "DIP socket" as we posted here:
http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...657#post178657
but you need to redesign the whole KROT-2 PCB in this case.
B/W Layout of somewhat "limited DIP" version of KROT-2 PCB (like Geo PCB) already posted on first page of this thread.

It is advisable to collect the programmer and learn to solder SMD components. Author (Andrew) is constantly updating the software and introduces additional functions in the operation of the instrument. You will need to update the firmware to the name of the newest and Featured program.
