This happens with every hex Ive tried 8, 9, 10 and 11. ferrite balance works, all features work, detector functions well except random beeping. I remember while building the eduardo VDI board, the amp would overload and the detector would randomly beep until I decreased a resistor. but on this one the gain is adjustable through firmware.Beeping stops when I disconnect coil. I am using two separately shielded pairs for coil, both connected only at RX ground. I wonder if anyone else who has built this single sided Dip board has solved this problem. Any ideas?

Random beeping may be e.g.
1. If you are at home, where a large amount of noise.
2. Poor ekrannirovany PX chain. Even need to shield connector.
3. have been set for a little over a large gain, or small rapids.
There may be other reasons .. All this can be verified by turning off the coil Random beeping should abyss at the threshold of S44!

If the "noise" in the printed circuit board DIP, the author recommends that these changes ... I recommend r18 is replaced by 30-100 mH choke, Dr1 not put more than 30 mH or jumper. C28 = 10uF (in the list 1 uF) and if it is a capacitor film, still put in parallel ceramic 0.1 uF! More ... Connector coil connected to the cable shield and soldered to the "cold end" PX.

Chattering
I replaced R18 with 92 uh choke, Dr1 is 10 uh choke, C28 replaced with 10 MFD electrolytic. cable shield connected to RX ground. After suggested changes made, no change- still chattering/ beeping!Detector functions well otherwise, good visual discrimination, and depth. Disconnect coil and beeping stops. I couldnt find a 300 pf for C19 so I used a 330 pf. maybe change R12 from 100K to ?
I wound a new DD coil, 1.063 mh TX, 8.5 KHZ C1 .3 mfd., 23.5 mh RX 7 khz C0 .022 mfd.
