Bf245b is for lf, hf, and dc amplifier , and bf244b for RF amplifier..


BF245B it starts lf band ie 30 khz t over do for the gun; strengthens and low; while the other is General HRIS

For your needs both transistors are OK. Critical parts is here double ferrite antenna with here proper gap. You tune RX frequency using proper C according given L value.

Both transistors are very sensitive to static charge and can be easily destroyed, so take care how to solder it.
