Coil appears to be one loop of aluminum tubing passed through a toroid that has the specified windings. A search of the forum for either tm800 or tf900 will have a pictorial o the method.
Spelling errors arebecaus tefrum is screwing up my typing. Think it's the spell checker. Doesn't happen anywhere else. Have to type real slow and I get tred of correcting missing characters.

Nice to know Carl. I remember when a schematic was supplied with virtually every electronic device you bought.

Looks like an interesting project to experiment with

Unfortunately I can see it sitting as home and not being use unless some sort of GPS plotting could be added

Saw the thread about the successful SMD TM808 a few years ago but the coils were factory and only the main PCB made

I think this detector appears in a film ET.

I have read that the Discovery TF900 is the same detector with the TM800. But TF900 is a two frequences detector, it works at 12.5 khz for metals and 73.5 for caves. Does anyone knows how TF900 makes the frequency change???? by change the tuning capacitor or by add turns to the coil of toroid (i don't think)???? If anyone has saw it please to reply...

Thanks Koala, but this site don't explain TF900 how tuned at both frequences. Anyway i believe that the change of the tuning capacitor is enough

to a mersi, no data, no pics inside of TF900. BTW last model was TF1200, before Discovery closed manufacturing. this attached is TM-808 that you see done in SMD, not thru hold. Click image for larger version

Seems TF900 and TM800 are the same and the TM808 is an older design Suspect TM808 and TF600 will be the same

Take is some of the TF900 are Chinese copies or clones

TM808 was designed by whites. Its a 6000 model without discrimination

Geo, here is an excerpt from the TM600 manual. Based on what I see in the TM800 schematic (supposed to be identical to TF900). Cave mode may just be manipulation of null setting.
The TM600 can find voids according to docs by adjustment in the null setting. The null controls we removed from user control on later models and made trim pots to be set at factory.
