Bear in mind I never had ANY schematics when I ran Pulsar, and I never failed to repair any machine I was sent (I even fixed a couply Dave at Pentechnic had said couldn't be) - Though I rather think that was because it would have taken too long rather than Dave (who is very competent) not actually being able to.

I appreciate that to you guys this is a hobby, but electronics is my job, hobby, pretty much life (sad) so I know just about every trick and circuit used and can work my way through most of the "simple" machines, even without a schematic. Something like a GTi2500 or an Explorer might be a little more difficult though. Not impossible, just harder.

Yeah Sean most of the things you've been said here are correct.
Yet we are not expecting here to share latest technology involved in current commercial models.
However we do expect here to be able to share obsolete and discontinued projects.
And that's the "breaking" point between us, the hobbyists, and the "legals".
I do consider such their attitude as sort of stupidity.
It is stupid to hide and make conspiracy on totally trivial things... like project which is 10-30 years old.
That's literally neoglobalistic approach. Money. To use even most trivial chance to pull out some "gipsy" money from mostly naive and enthusiastic hobbyists.
Yes, because we are not talking here about millions... it's indeed quite "gipsy" money.
So far as i am concerned "Mynotlab" can suck my 1 because i am not interested in their stuff anymore.
"New kids" are on the block, playing more fair game, so i am dedicating all my money to them.
Besides... be the "man" and protect your intellectual work on smart way, do not "protect" it by scratching labels and hiding schematics.
(this is addressed to "them" particularly, not to you Sean)

yes sean but the point was i wanted the schematic for the parkinson pro, a schematic that was included in the KIT, so it was actually part of the original package, for them to a- deny releasing the schematic, when b- it was in the kit, is sad.
i could have accepted it if they had said we have not got that schematic, but they tried to deny a schematic was released with the kit that my family bought, if it had not been lost i would have it.
the fact that we are talking about old tech is moot, it was in the kit when bought why cant i have another copy?.
none of my posts were aimed at you, as i said i hold schematics for adams stuff, i wont release those as i was asked not to, i was simply pointing out, the stupidity of it all.
i was thinking about getting one of the non motion machines that have been rereleased, possibly the 990 but i wont now because the only way i can show my contempt for their position and treatment of former customers, is spend my money elsewhere, unfortunately new non motion machines are not really commonplace.

The old c-scopes are not that difficult to repair. I have fixed many of the vintage analogue c-scopes and find them generally pretty easy to repair (for the most part). My only experience before fixing metal detectors was fixing Televisions , VCR, satellites , audio, and electronic musical instruments.
3 years at the local technical college from basic up to intermediate level 3, the reason c-scope don't give technical data out is simple - they want all the repair work for there self and don't want any one else doing it. Good business sense I suppose.
Trying to repair without a schematic is hard , some times I just rebuild partially or fully the complete circuit board which usually fixes any tough dogs. I quit the repair trade 16 years ago and was "rusty" when it came to fixing again but it is coming back to me slowly but surely. Some detectors have the chip numbers rubbed off with sand paper so no one but them can fix them - yes it sucks big time and means some old detectors have to be scrapped.
