im not sure if that hand written schematic is complete....i think from what ive seen on the internet that goldscan 5 is good machine but hard to set up...i was really after the vco part of the circuit but someone said its not on the written schematic...be nice in the future to try and make one but i dont think there are any pcb's availiable for this beast.

How about the VCO from GS IV?

Have a look at the MiniPulse Plus schematic. The VCO oscillator is exactly the same.

im after a vco audio response as in the tdi and gs 5....just using a positive input.

i think the mini pulse threshold is ticking type !!! i want the same audio as the whites tdi uses.....with a few hundred hertz vco threshold....how would i modify the above schematic to do this ??? i have just ordered mini pulse pcb from silver dog and hope i can modify the audio to get similar audio as in tdi and goldscan 5

The MPP has a VCO-type audio. Although the Audio (threshold) control should be set to a low growl, it rapidly increases in frequency as metal comes near the coil. The TDI appears to have a combination of VCO audio and a signal level threshold. I would suggest testing the MPP as it is, before making any modifications.

i will try and make the mini pulse but im not very keen on ticking threshold !!! i use to have a tesoro lobo detector which had a similar threshold to the whites tdi and i really liked it very much !!! if only i could afford a whites tdi pro this being my dream machine
