    this is a quick example how it could go tone and frequency would vary on target pickup or you could split tone amplitude inputs and say connect the frequency input to the none ferrous channel of a discriminate detector in which you would get a fixed tone for iron and a variable frequency for none ferrous metal.

      In a few days, I'll do the PCB and see if it works in the Diablo. Do you think 2N2222 is better than the BC547 that you put in the original drawing? Both are the same, but not exactly.

        don't think would make any difference any NPN transistor would work the preset resistor makes up for any differences when adjusting the tone. connect power to speaker side of 100r resistor not where i marked it on VCO

          lobo light 32khz crystal oscillator with VCO I haven't built this yet or tested it and might change it and might be errors but shows what i mean
