  • DIABLO Gold Demon

Hello everyone. I wanted to ask if someone built this detector based on William Lahr's schema.Click image for larger version

Name:	Tesoro_DiabloGoldDemon.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	400.8 KB
ID:	369166

I already got all the original components and I'm working on the PCB.

Any help will be welcomed. Perhaps Porkluvr or Dom44 can help me carry out the project. Also in an old Ivconic's thread , Maxbiri mentioned that he built this detector and it worked.

If we could carry out this project, the forum would cover all fields of metal detection because, until now, no detector specifically designed for gold prospecting was successfully built here.

    Thanks in advance.

have you worked out a new pcb layout?
    would you post it

and attention the gold demon has no disc
    but an extra ground setting

Hi Bernte. Yes, I'm working in a new PCB, but still it is not finished. My hope is that somebody who have experience in this Metal detector or in the old LOBO can help me, and then publish it on the forum.

disc is absent, mode ALL METAL. with such chance you can make hammerhead, surf, or minipulse. waste of time...

Hi kt315. Really do not care. What matters to me is that it is specific for gold prospecting, and in that case, discrimination is of little importance into the field. This is a simple VLF metal detector specifically designed for gold nugget hunting, THIS is important for me.

After all, the Surf PI, the Hammerhead or the Baracuda neither have discrimination.

Any information, photo, experience or whatever in relation with this metal detector, will be welcomed.

          Regards,

          Fabián

sorry, but I do not see something specifically designed for gold nuggets hunting. this is oldie schematic, 20kHz, VLF, nothing specific.
you can take any from Tesoro's or GMT King Cobra, retune on 20kHz and get same result.
oh yes... there is the clue word GOLD =) BTW in GMT is ALSO this word - Gold Mountain Technology.
make HH and do not waste your time.

Yes, that´s true. Mi TGSL Edu detects small gold pretty good, and my last Baracuda too (not so small as the TGSL), but I like to make boards and to solder components in it, so.. What's the problem? It's a beautiful manner to waste the time for me.

So, if anybody want to help, it will be welcomed. If not, I will continue alone...

              Regards,

              Fabián

every William Lahr schematic is needed in very due checking. they are mainly seem good drawned, but for example I found 3-4 discrepancies
in King Cobra vs Lahr schematic. have you hi res pics of board, part list with measured components from board? not. the info is very pale
to make using only the schematic.

Yes, kt315 it's true. I presume that this diagram (as others) probably got some mistake, and is for this reason that I ask information and help to the people in the forum. May be somebody have a Old DIABLO and wants to take some photos, Who knows?

....As far as I know............now back to the Diablo....the coils for that detector are also compatible with the original Tesoro Lobo..... the Diablo and the original Lobo operate at 20 KHZ....so other Tesoro coils will Not work......Joe
may be you looking to make Lobo instead Diablo?

No. I wanna make the DIABLO.
I have a LOBO from Foma almost working, but I still can't make the proper coils. I had a liar inductometer for a long time, but now I made a new one who works fine. I'll make the right coils soon for the LOBO and the DIABLO.
With the faulty coils that I have, can detect a small gold nut of an earring at 2 or 3 cm; earth balance and the disc works pretty good. It may not be for the Geotech parameters, but for me is a good mark.

                      Regards,

                      Fabián

kt315 sounds like my wife - BUT she says all of my Hobby is waste of time
hope you can laugh about it

to clear out the differences i will search my Archive for older tesore shemes like the aztec...
