You must comply that the author has two projects Malish FM and Malish FM 2. For each of the two projects is over, as the schemes and programs for the CPU changes were made.
Here are the latest two versions. Note that under Malish FM-ver2 coil is 1.5 mH, while the second version Malish FM2-ver2 coil is 2 mH.
In second new version (Malish FM2-ver2) the author has waived coil wound on the ferrite rod.

In the first two versions the inductance of the coils is as follows: Malish FM - 1.25 mH and Malish FM2 - 2,290 mH.
I hope that now becomes clear where it comes from frustration with inductance coils.

Yes, i use malysh FM2 ver 2 with 2mh coil, eddy17 says maybe i have high mineral soil, all iron sand will pickup by a magnet, all my detector always beep on first contact with the soil.

i can show that with magnet on any sand - thats normal. you do something wrong. shield
a space inside box, around the pcb. connect the shield to the ground. both points of shileding must be in one point -
from coil and from housing to the batts clemma.

upload a photo with - your hand with PP, the soil in touching with. i will draw a way to flow of electrostatic field voltage/current.

Im not yet put it on the box, take a look

I think the mistake is that looking on the street outside your house. Such places are usually highly contaminated metal waste accumulated there over the years - nails, beer caps and others.
Go somewhere outside the village there and try to see what will be the behavior of the detector

Let me try later on padi field... I think the result will be same, my front yard is lots of nail but not in every cm, every 20cm maybe, same result on tile floor.

ok. i see you do not touch pcb never. turn it on right on ground a coil laying on and give a video.

Malysh 's principle is a measuring of freq deviation and certainly you get that if you put down the coil on ground.
