i guess it depends if you like compadre's or not.
Yep looks better than I thought after I cleaned it. Only one burnt track and a bit of mineral salts build up on the legs of one IC.

Don't know anything about the Amigo was it a good detector.

Loads of projects on the go at the moment. MOT on car tomorrow as well. 15 years old so bound to need loads doing LOL. Plus building new coils for the IDX and Baracuda.

Does look like a nice detector to reproduce in surface mount using larger footprint devices than the original. Component count and tracks are quite low.

No problem. Try and email a full res of the front side as well. The forum 2mb limit means if you zoom in there is no detail. Pity the caps have no values on them.

it may be possible to do a through hole version of this, as i understand it is a tr vlf, with ground balance, and discrimination/all metal mode, as its tesoro you could tweak it and either simplify or expand its features nice.

edit ok i'm confused now, koalas pics are compadre, but my above comments relate to the amigo, so what are the differences?
        thanks

You and me both LOL miss named it in my last post.

In post 3 the OP said they would like to build a compadre

I thought the Amigo and compadre were the same just different controls on box but could be wrong

Just been look through the Tesoro section on the "findmall.com" and people absolutely love the Compadre compared to their other detectors. Seems it finds small targets next to large iron better than almost any other detector.
