  • Could someone comment this TESORO CIBOLA schematic

    Hi,
I'm building a TESORO CIBOLA with a schematic i found on another forum.
I think it comes from Russia.
My first question is : On CIBOLA/VAQUERO, there is a pinpoint button which is absent on the scheme, Is it normal ?
I'd also hear comments about the coil building cause the requirement seems strange for me (0.95mH for TX looks more like a PI coil than a concentric one).
I heard about spider coil for CIBOLA but spider coils sounds like PI project to my ears.
    Thanks

The Cibola and Vaquero detectors use Tesoro 4-pin coils. These have a TX inductance of approximately 1mH, and an RX inductance of 7mH.
A value of 0.95mH (950uH) is too high for most PI detectors, although I understand that some of the C.Scope detectors designed by Eric Foster have 1mH TX coils. So - to answer your question - the value of 0.95mH is OK, but the idea of using a basket weave coil doesn't make any sense.

you open new and new threads with one subject. do you need individual consultations?
all about cibola in this thread i give a link and pls use SEARCH engine of forum before you do something.

              Thanks,
I did this once cause i'm also making CHANCE and CLONE PI. I downloaded few dozens of RAR files full of layout and schematics ..
Do you think it's a big problem if a homemade coil fit the inductance requirements but not the resistance ?
The resistance act on the current/power transmit by the coil and the inductance on the frequency. So, few differences on the coil resistance may not have big impact on the working, no ?
              What do you think ?
If my resistance is too low, i can add one in serial to reduce the current ?
If it's too high, i cannot do anything to reduce it, except using a bigger wire.

CHANCE and CLONE PI are PULSE INDUCTION design. while CIBOLA is VERY LOW FREQUENCY VLF design.
you try mix that are not mixed just cause the nature of other conceptions.
so pls separate flies from the cutlets.

No, i'm just saying that i'm working on those two projects (PI and IB) at the same time.
So, what do you think about my resistance coil question ?

Thanks but i don't think that the simplicity of my question needs 286 pages of knowledge.
However, i'll try to find this book cause it seems to be very usefull.

You don't have to try very hard to find it.
