Your an old man, sir, nice to know that you can still do stuff. I hope I'll be able to at least walk around the place when I'm 80, if I ever get there. I'm gonna try to make double side pcb the way you suggested, I think it will work for sure.

Thanks for the tip Melbeta. I wish someone had an extra PCB to strip of parts and then scan to produce a clean PCB. Maybe we will get lucky.

Here is the Component list for the Scanners. It was a real %#*^ sorting through the many versions that I partially completed over the years to put together this mostly complete list.
Some models in the Parts Chart are more complete than others. If the component you are wanting is not listed under a particular model it is OK to use a value from a different model. That is becuase I was careful to note ALL ODD/ different values per models that I inspected. --- I.E. all model differences that I observed are recorded.

I suck at working with digital documents and learning new programs.. Just saying. SO, the attached Parts list could use some work. Cleaning up un-used fields and columns, etc. is something I don't know how to do. PLEASE someone clean it up my chart and repost it for me? The way it sits a guy has to scroll down through a couple empty pages to get to the Capacitor and diode lists.
ALSO, the Document is written in MS "WORKS" not "WORD" so needs to be converted to "WORD" for most folks can read it. Can someone do that as well? -- Beyond my ability.
I have included a copy in Rich Text Format which should open and sorta work for a work around until someone makes a good working document for the forum.
Additionally there is a LAY file included for the tiny circuit board used in the Coils. Sprint LAY50 is an older version,, hope it works. Let me know of any difficulies with these files.
( link temporarily removed by poster)

!! Hey, I just editted and removed my attachment. Don't feel comfortable becuase when I clicked to veiw my attachment on the forum it opened up my own computer files which I could navigate through and view everything on my computer.. WTF am I doing wrong or am I mistaken fellas?? Looked like any link clicker could access my computer.
      Whats up with that??

Okay, this one I cannot open. I do not have Sprint50. Where do I download a Sprint50 program, and if necessary, the key to using it, and yes, English language. I used to work on far simpler boards back in time. Today they are double sided, with through the hole plating, and some lines are even placed inside the boards. Or can someone post a .jpg image of each side of the board?

I opened up the RTF file okay and it looks pretty darn good to me. Great work Phil...

I am old school, live deep in a forest area, so do not have good access to internet. I have to use an old phone line, with a dial up modem into the old phone line. So it is slow service, but I live pretty good, clean living, have wild animals nearby and on my property, such as mountain lions, bobcats, bears, dear, elk, skunk, wolverine, rabbits, squirrels. No, I do not hunt them. But I do keep weapons nearby all the time, to remain save. Even carry them when I go outside. I do not use torrent, stay away from things which could infect my computer. I can take it by email though.

Ahhh! That is the little Compass board, they use in the coil, to null the coils. I did a read of a Coin Magnum coil yesterday, using a LCR unit, and the pins were so close together, it was difficult to read. But the Rx pins read 15.7 pF capacitance, no reading on the R or L side. I guess they had it set around Zero Volts? Is that right PHIL?

A friend wanted to know so he can build a smaller coil and I was surprised at the readings. Not sure if I read it corrrectly due to the low readings. My LCR unit I have not used since 1990s... Maybe it went belly up?

Simple search produced this free version of Sprint Layout 6.0 @

                          https://download.freedownloadmanager.../FREE-6.0.html

I haven't tried it though as I already have one.

Melbeta- I don't have anything on the Coin Mag coil so can't really answer about that. But my hunch is that you are reading stray or line capacitance. Maybe it's tuning cap is in the control box? and not in the coil? I dunno.

I can try to make a PCB from you scans. I used to do it as long as I can see the trace lines and can see where the pads go. On yours, the red lines, AND the heavier black lines, are the FRONT image?

And the orange lines, and the faint black lines, are the rear image?

If so, when I have time, I can try it and see if I can draw out the PCB.

Thanks for the link. I will download it and use it. I dislike having to buy something I will not use that often. All I want is something that shows up on the screen and lets me save a copy. On your small board, I used to do that in the past. I made up a full page of PCB images, printed with a laser printer. Then the guys would just iron the image onto the cleaned PCB. It worked great! I figured out how to stick an image in finally, so put in an image from back in the 1990s when I used to put together "Do-it-yourself" booklets. Melbeta

Jerry, since you just got the Sprint software
You can play around with this method of making PCB as well and see if it peaks you. This works great in Version 50, not sure about Sprint60...

Using Sprint open new project and go to OPTIONS tab. Click SCANNED COPY tab. Import a bitmap from your desktop of a quality photograph of the actual PCB you want to duplicate. This photo now appears as a background in your new PCB layout project. By changing the resolution of this photo with the up/down arrows in the "Scanned Copy" tab you can scale the photo to match the correct ic pin spacing. You can go back at anytime during the project to re-tweek this scaling for best match up.
Now simply drag and drop various IC, Cap, etc macros from the drop down macro list and place them to populate the new project. Finish up by drawing traces and whatever else you need.
The photo (BMP) can be toggled on or off at the "Scanned Copy" tab under options.
One more tip,,, In Sprint on the left bottom side bar click the Grid symbl to show a grid as well to snap to if desired.
That's the simple version, in reality just a little harder due to learning curve and other small details you will learn by playing with it.
Here is something I just did to illustrate. It is an actual lay file of what I am talking about using the Gold Scanner PCB. and may even function when you open it if your software came with the same 8 and 14 pin IC macros. Dunno.
                              Hope that made sense.
I think you will have a blast with the Sprint program Melbeta. It is fairly easy to pick up.

Here are some pictures and Coil specs on one of Compass's most sought after Scanner coils. $125-150 on the bay but very rare to find. A really hot little 6" Concentric for All Scanners and Liberty 13.77Khz.
