  • Tesoro 80s golden sabre schematic needed

I have an 80s golden sabre and need the schematic for that model. The disc and notch
function has stopped all metal mode works. Any help getting that would be much appreciated
    Thanks in advance

Pictures? Where you get these nice vintage detectors? I have never seen a vintage golden sabre on ebay.

Hi everyone, I go to some estate sales, yard sales and a couple of thrift store close by my home. Always looking for metal detectors. I live in whites detector country as I am only 50 minutes drive to their factory there are alot of used whites machines to be found around here. This particular Golden sabre Caught my eye at a yard sale last summer the gentlemen told me he had had it for a long time that it worked but he hadn't turned it on for 5 years. So I took a chance and baught it without turning it on (he had no batteries) I Got it home fired it up and it worked great in all metal mode but notch and disk did not work at all so I think there is something amiss is the descriminate section here are some pics of the exterior of the case I will post the circuit board pics tomorrow when I get home.
sorry for the long postClick image for larger version

Thanks for nice pics, I want to build this detector as their is nice(original) layout available here on forum. Also their are some pics of original pcb to compare yours to. Read Opus as very good guide to making pics of internals.

Since the basic detector, which is the all metal mode, and the Rx circuit are working, I would turn my attention first to a switch, that switches from all metal over to Discriminate mode, which is the motion mode. They tend to tarnish or corrode inside a switch over time, the silver gets a slight corrosive coating, which then will not conduct current. It happens in battery powered wrist watches, where we take a rubber eraser and erase away this slight coating.

you can temporary close the pins of a switch in disc position soldering a wire on them.
solder the pins with cooling by tweezers keeping it near the switch.

Thank you for all your feedback and suggestions as I am new to this you've all been a big help. I will check out the switch in question we'll both for that matter. Here are some pics I took of the sabre outside this afternoon I hope they are the quality needed. Please let me know. I can take constructive criticism as it's the only way we improve. This should be easy fix, since problem resides in the main box, maybe bad switches as was suggested. I expect there will be single sided pcb, so changing parts if it comes to that should be easy. Hope you can get it working, it is nice detector. Would be interesting to measure coil specs to compare.
