Also ignores large objects, even pliers. The problem is that silver coins and some large copper coins are also indicated as iron. The discrimination depends on the mixing ratio of the two signals. The first signal is delayed 30 microseconds. The second signal is delayed 120 microseconds. The principle is in the picture.Click image for larger version

Yes, this is definitely discrimination based on target conductivity, and is why silver and large copper coins are also rejected because they have similar time constants.

are you under weed smoky? why your lines on schematic and board are so idiotically broken? why you are not able draw the lines right normally?
i can not look on your pics... no dwell... so GARBAGE always...

Yep, an old method that uses conductivity or really the Target Tau.
Fe depending on size and shape can go either way.

Why not just post the layout file. Sheesh.
Please tell me you saved the layout file.

Can't you just be kind or are you one of those people who are born without empathy?
You get a thumbs down for your negative post.

Nevertheless if circuit performance is good then it is maybe a good project since there is nice compact layout.

The metal detectors designed by this man are simple and very good, this assembly I did not try, but I try when I have free time ... Sascho congratulations!

First of all, I respect anyone's effort to make something new or upgrade some existing design, but i don't like when someone is posting things like this...

I don't get it why did you started this thread anyway?

I would understand if you didn't have PCB layout, but clearly you have it, why not posting it and allow other members that have interest in this project to build it so they can share their impressions with all of us?

Sharing is a two way street, so if this project has a potential most likely it can be upgraded here, or it can be proven to be bad, which is based on your behavior more likely...

Well all I can say is that I am suspicious of posting just an image of the layout and not the actual file. Does he expect someone to go through the trouble of tracing it over in Sprint or some other PCB design software? Why doesn't he just post the file. Surely if you design a PCB layout you would preserve the layout files and not just an image of it. These strange things make me worry.
If you want others to build the dam thing then post the files of PCB and let's get on with it.
Also, what is to stop someone else from tracing out the image using Sprint? So it's not like you are protecting your PCB design from being copied. I just don't get it.
