  • Hello friends;

    the device is working,
    depth is very good.
    on the other hand
    I tested different coils,
    ferrit silindiğinde
    no metal detection
    what is the problem?
    Best regards

      • Hi
        1.smw worked very nicely.
        2.depth is very good.
        3.no nonsense signal.
        4.I wound different coils.
5.iron core does not wipe aluminum foil.
        coil:
        TX-1.06mh 0.50mm
        RX-15.14mh 0.30
I had no problems with 1st and 2nd smw before.
        where can i be wrong
        does not choose metals
        Please help me

C30 in circuit brings up the "bell tone", similar as at Garret's. Very effective at some type of targets.
Saves me from using another switch for tone option.
Also there is a diode bridge acting as battery reverse polarity protection.
This is particular case, not general, since i made this detector for one friend who is often careless and already burned several detectors with reversing the polarity at 12v/1.3A battery.
So i had to figure out how to prevent that.
Ok, there is small and insignificant voltage drop at bridge... not presenting any problem and not affecting detector behavior at all.

          1)
          What is C30 capacitor value
2)can you mark it on the c30 pcb

          Best regards

              • Hi,
ib detectors tx high rx low frequency
                we know as.
smw detector is just the opposite, rx high tx low
                Is this true?.
Or did I get it wrong?

also what is the net coil information capacitor information of this circuit.

                Best regards

Ok, now you pulled out from me the latest bijou!
Which i never intended to share here!
Let it be the treat for this month:
                  hello ivconic master.
                  we upset you with questions,
                  connected circuit worked.
                  thank you

I'm having trouble with the coil
tx 1,09 mh rx 15,29 mh
How many cm should be 1e depth test
what is the tx and rx frequency that should be.
what is the frequency value between the two coils.

                  sorry for the questions

                  thank you so much

                  • Hiya,,I'm also looking for the TX and RX frequencies. What should each frequency be? Regards, Marty.please

                    • Hello everybody
By mistake I put the Cd4053 backward in dip and switched bord for one minute and back it to its correct place after that SMW stopped detect any metal. Dose that mean Cd4053 corrupt or something else.?

                      • It's possible the 4053 is dead, but it's also possible that the power supply feeding it is dead. Measure the power supply voltage.

                          Power supply voltage is 11v.
Still there is sound comes out (tik tik til) but no detection
May be I need to replace Cd4053 but I afraid more parts are corrupted.

                          • Plugging in a chip backwards usually shorts out the power supply via the ESD diode between the VCC and VEE pins. This is unlikely to cause damage beyond the chip itself, and the power supply circuit that feeds it. It is possible, however, that the 11V got applied to the I/O pins of the 4053 so it depends on what is connected. Remove the 4053 and see if there is any excessive current draw. Check the signals up to the 4053. If everything still looks good, plug in a new one and see what happens.

                              Transistor Q6327, Cd4053 and 555 were corrupted
I replaced it then back to life.
I replaced Lm555 by Ne555 is it OK or not?
And why Q6327 some time getting heat?

                              • If the LM555C is bipolar (I think it is) then the NE555 will work.
Q6 gets hot because it is the TX coil driver. The amount of hot depends on the TX frequency and pulse width. Often this transistor gets a heat sink.
