What would be the roles of T2 and T3?

          More power? More current?
          One BU is enough.
          Overkill.

Function generator? maybe not even a detector.

              Rather like HHO generator.
I can tell; BU is my middle name.
I wasted kilos and kilos of those... back in '90s.
              One is enough.
              3 are total overkill.
Can't imagine the sampling stage on this.

Use 3 Tr. Because low CE resistance. More current allow to coil.

No it is Pi detector. That section is only transmitter

May be from Bulgaria or Russia. Any body have hex file?

No. Collector-emittersaturation voltage of BU508 is 1V. It is the same of all group transistors
Maybe they use 3 tr-rs for more pulse avalanche energy rating in the moment of turn off coil (for ex > let Icoil=2A, Ucoil=Ic*Re=3*300/2*2=900V; Collector-emittersustaining voltage=700V> that means will be avalanche break collector-emitter)

Don't use this schematic, this is bull****. This is at fully analogue schmatic in receiving part, and аlmost nonsense in TX.
You can do it without any microcontroler and you don't need hex file.
If you want to bild simple PI mashine - do PI surfmaster.
