You can do it without any microcontroler and you don't need hex file.
If you want to bild simple PI mashine - do PI surfmaster.
for your guide thank . built some PI machine but this one interest me

Here is what i did so far, to kill annoyance.
You can continue with input component values if you like:Attached Files

As i suspected; there are plenty of discrepancies between schematic, values and component layout!
Intentional?
"Poor man obfuscation technique" ...?
I simply enjoy such puzzles.
So i corrected lot of those:Attached Files

Just run over it to see if there is any useful info.
Unfortunately no.
Yes there is this detector presented in a book, as well as one simpler version of it.
Schematic, pcb, component layout. No code.
It's on Russian and i can not understand it.
It will need me to Copy&Paste article in some online translator.
But it is tedious job, pdf is "protected", not textual mode too.
It is doable but i don't see any sense in that. Nor am motivated.
What i had so far is enough to reconstruct the idea... which is uncommon, that's why attracted my attention on the first place.
I do this just to kill time. Does not mean that i will ever finish it.
As for the book... lot of small and trivial examples. Lot of small and simple schematics.
Nothing to seriously catch attention.

This detector was made as product of author experiments and for teaching purpose and constructed in such unusual way to overcome patents and not to be better i think.
Just don't waste your time, build Pirate MD (20cm+ to coin) , SurfPI (30cm+ to coin), Hammerhead or Minipulse plus. If i don't understand even 50% of circuitry i never build it, cos in 50% cases i waste my time for nothing.

SIMPLE PI DETECTOR.zip
Hi aft_72005,
If you want such kind of detector (with microcontroler without ADC) can try this.
It is an old project, working like other similar simple PI machines - without discrimination, and depth 25 sm to coin.
Fot ADC convertion it use Timer1 (16 bit), and resolution depend on charging capacitor and working frequency of microcontroler.
It was necessary to cut lot of origial function in the atached HEX file - to approach as closely as posible to function of detector which interest you.
PS: I not so sure if zip file will upload, because i use <insert image>...

You can upload a pdf document to an online translator which scans the page and does translation to english or any language you prefer.
No need to copy and paste text, just upload entire page in PDF and the software does the rest.
Only thing is that you must extract each pdf page individually for uploading. This way you can translate only the pages you are interested in reading, and not the whole book.
