  • Bounty Hunter RB3 schematic needed (or if someone can ID a chip)

Hello, I'm working my way through cleaning and repairing a pile of vintage detectors I bought recently and I have a Bounty Hunter RB3 that someone seems to have plugged 9v batteries into at some point. There is a chip that is completely burnt and I'm hoping to be able to ID it and get it replaced along with the resistor and transistor that it took out when it fried. If anyone could help with a schematic, or if you happen to have a machine you can open up and get the chip number I would really appreciate it.

    Looks like an LM358.

Carl, Thank you. I suspected it might be. Got one ordered and hopefully this machine will be running like new soon

Those look like some big *** tantalums, notoriously iffy, and prone to failure. I'd be inclined to be careful on powering up once you've changed out the chip. Put a socket.
If it were my machine, those would be the first to go. Unless you want another on board fire.
