Have you also looked at -> Arduino Nano Pulse Induction Metal Detector Project - Published March 2021

This detector is based on the Surf-PI, but with some modifications such as a Boost feature to increase detection depth.

I like what I;ve read about it but I don't have Linux and can't open the files. Do you know of a windows 10 compatible program to open them?

You don't need Linux to open the files.
Just download DipTrace for Windows -> https://diptrace.com/download/download-diptrace/
and the Arduino IDE -> https://www.arduino.cc/en/software

I've got parts ordered for the Surf Pro and the Arduino. I'm going to build the SP first.
