  • Asking CARL NC...coin tracker

    Hi Carl,
i have a picture of your collection of various metal detectors. It is
really amazing! I guess you have a quite expirience working with them.
Last week I purchased a coil for Compass relic magnum. It is aprox. 8" diamm.
I guess it is a DD coil, but not sure.It is closed, round coil and in a very
good shape. Can you tell me a working frequency for that coil, cose I could'nt
find any precise data on the .net. One more thing. I am very interested to
make some not to many complicate metal detector for coins, mostly. It should
have a small coil, not over 8". I would be a very satisfied finding a $1 coin
at 6-8"(15-20cm) with it. I do have a schematic of White's Coinmaster, but it
looks ancient and there is no any disc. mode. Some of detectors are very
good for coins but have short "bleep" sound, which is not quite good for some
fields.I noticed many times i pass over a coin without good signal and skip it.
What I mean, I need a m.d. with continous sound when finds occur, not only with a
    short "bleep" signal.
I gues that you can give me some
answers and hints, also do you have any other schematic on thtat matter.I already
downloaded almost all from your site. Many very nice projects but still no
good coin tracker. I just made a IB from JOhn Clarke from your pages, with a
LM 324,4046 and TL496c, and it is working, but it is only a toy, with very poor
performances, as I expected at the first time i saw it. So if you have such a schematic
please send me or even better post it on the forum for everybody.
Can You give me thoe answers...
    regards
Working...
