    Hi Tim,

What is the information of your 3' x 3' coil? its detection is excellent!

    Cheers

1843 I used an 8 conductor 16ga unshielded cable I believe it was 15ft. I ran the cable inside the PVC and connected each wire in series to make a loop.

I will post the measurements tomorrow.

        XL500

        Hi Tim,

Is xl500 assembly_plan correct or its schematic???
In the schematic the resistor between the astable 555 and the MPSU60 is 68R but in the assembly_plan is 150R. Also the MPSU60 base-emitter resistor in the schemtic is 470R and in the assembly_plan 150R. There are other
differences such as the damper resistor...
Please look at the your original XL500 and let us know the proper values of them.

        Thanks in advance,
        1843

I glanced over the schematic someone posted here and it looked close. I did not check any values. I am getting ready for a 2 week hunt. I will check those for you.

OK I looked at the parts you asked and here is what I got. From the 555 pin3 it goes to a a 10pf cap to the base of mpsu60. The base to emitter resistor is 150ohm. On my board there is no resistor in line from the 555. Just the cap. on my board the damping resistor is a 1k.

            Board #9953700 and #911031

One of these may be a date of manufacture.
When I get back I may trace my board and compare to the schematic online.

            later,

            Tim

One thing I forgot to say. My board does not have the mpsu60. The cap goes stright to the driver fet #RFP8N18L.

              DATA SHEET;

I would procide with caution using this schematic online.

                Hi Tim,
Did you compare the schematic with your machine?

Please check these components and let me know...

1843 I am hooked up right now, but I planed on tracing my board and compair it to the schematic online. I will let you know.
