    Hi

I remember that the TDI circuit was previously posted somewhere in this forum... but now I couldn't find it with the search.
Is the TDI circuit map removed?
Can someone reupload the address of that post or that map?

          Hi KT315

In the past, I had found and collected the schematics of several metal detectors of the Whites company from Russian sites... You who know Russian may be able to find it.
I checked your circuit archive.. White's TDI schematic was not in it

            hi
if the Archive has not the sch there is not the sch nowhere. not exist. it is main rule. yes, Carl and Eric made the TDI, both.
those schematics are company's closed property, copyright. we say COPYRIGHTED*.
so where WHOLE archive of Eric after his death? is it accessable for us all? not. no one sch from his archive was open, shared. and will not open in future.
or, you are still waiting free buns with coffee?
we have only that we have.

              Yes, Eric Foster died.
May God have mercy on him.. but his accumulated knowledge also went underground.
Human life is shorter than we think and death does not inform.
I agree with you about China.
Also, China became a superpower with the spread of the corona virus and the sale of its vaccines.
Chinese people and their products are now everywhere in the world

China became a superpower because capitalistic world had gave it whole military secrets FREE.
but one thing left... chineses are still not able to copy obsolete LF357

Here is a Chinese LF 357... I have to buy one and test it in a laboratory.
I have to test the slew rate to see if it is real or fake

I have the TDI circuits in a 4-page PDF file but I don't know if it is legal to upload it to the post or maybe upload it to Google Drive. Can someone ask CARL if he authorizes me or not to share it?

Post them if you like, if Garrett complains I'll remove them.

Question. If you redraw a schematic from an original Whites, Garrett or other manufacturer and publish them, would you run in trouble? The same is for the PCB's. But of course the schematics and PCB's would look different from the originals.

A schematic that is reverse-engineered from the circuit is definitely clear of copyright infringement. A schematic redrawn from the original schematic is not so clear. However, I don't know how you could tell the difference.

Carl shared a schematic of Whites, but it was one time for whole history of existing of this forum.

Things are actually very simple. Patents have their own statute of limitations and expiration.
Original documentation or not... if the product is out of date and no longer on the market; therefore, the public publication of the documentation will not hurt and harm anyone's interests: I see no reason for excessive tension.
I have done countless reverse engineerings of many devices... INTENTIONALLY... just because I was annoyed by the attitude of some companies who jealously guarded their little pointless "secrets".
There is NOTHING in this world that cannot be cloned and reverse engineered, NOTHING.
One should be moderate and polite in these matters. You should be rational and realistic.
Hiding under the veil of secrecy a bunch of outdated and rather pointless designs nowadays is pretty ridiculous and seems lame.
I maintain that the welfare of mankind lies in education. The new generations coming will live in a better world only if they are well educated.
Hiding knowledge prevents this. But it also has a doubly disastrous meaning; at the same time, it forgets all those wonderful genius brains that once in the past made incredible scientific achievements in the fields in which they worked.
There is a huge number of detectors (today long outdated, forgotten and irrelevant) that were a real small scientific miracle in their time, due to a series of various techniques for solving delicate problems.
But more importantly, behind those detectors there were teams of brilliant minds, engineers, people very dedicated to the work.
All those people... or at least a huge majority are today forgotten, unknown, as if they never existed.
Why? Because some paranoid schizophrenic company owner decided to hide all the projects and never release them into the public domain.
Forums like these are places where we should remember such people, acknowledge them for their work and try again to penetrate their way of thinking and ways and methods of solving problems.
That's why I'm always in favor of free publication of complete documentation of original products. Apart from those that are still present on the market and commercial.
And finally, a little trivia... ML GPZ 7000... you think it's a very hard nut to clone?
                              Ha, ha, ha!
But it won't see the light of day just yet, as long as it's on the market.
