u402 6,5 is for batt check i dont make it all. bat check make with two npn and led - led go on when bat is low.
t12 and r71 are limiter you can trow them away.
would you like my version ?

hi rumensat. I like your version. really like. very good version. seems like you HAVE seen Cyclon's m.d. ThunderBolt-III and noted the main idea. but why you do not copied another parts? Thunder has at least a circuit for balancing. you schematic has nothing on it as your coil is NOT of voltage-resonance, but current-resonance you must be remember what a way you must use for zeroing on RX stage.
second. why you do not want to order a PCB from Cyclon DIRECTLY? much money will be for you?

      i make TB3 and TB4 , very bad rezults.
i think schematics are very different but some ideas are goodq thats why i try to modernise 1266 and have new 3 version.
PCB from ciklon not suited for me.
i make one board for 5 hours single sided - for test and if things are good will make profesional 2 sided, here in Bulgaria PCB can do for 3 euro and 3 days wait.
till now i make test pcb with laser printer and have more than 23 versions of different MD - still dont satisfyed.
about zeroing - i still didnt see problems till now.

          I am here...

I am here Geo. I stopped with 1266 due some other obligations. I am planing to continue with it next month. First have to finish some already ordered detectors for my customers...
          One interesting news;
a friend of mine bought new Mineoro Sovereign GT.....I am very disapointed!
          Very ordinary detector.Nothing special???
I have much better experiences with Musketeer Colt!
My friend and me went on the field. He with GT and me with my homemade CL3......and know what? I have 25 founds and he......none!? Same field same conditions????? Even i took Gt and tried to adjust it properly.....nothing!?
          Poor.....ordinary performances!? Shheeeesh!

I already checked X-Terra 70 and Eplorer SE last month.....Simillar results!??

Only Minelabs i really like are Musketeer and Relic Hawk.Best ever!
But those new "toys" are real toys!? Average, ordinary toys with a lot of cosmetics on it and nothing else???

CL3 works much better! Not to mention Musketeer Colt.....

          regards

Hi Ivconic. You will have the same results with 1266. I believe that it will have the same sensitivity with CL3. Only at Disc will be better. Now i try to finish the Anker SS60. Just before one hour i found 2 mistakes at 4066. Maybe tomorrow to correct them. This time i have the sensitivity of CL3 but it is 2 tone with good audio. If i will detect a 2euro at 45..50 cm i will stop all the other project and i will design a good pcb. But..... to be sure ....this time i am looking at 1266 pcb's for errors. Who knows...maybe to be the next project

                Fisher quartz

Hi guys, please let me know, what quartz crystal used in Fisher 1266? I read, that 70kHz, but in other place 38kHz, from some shematic I found 3,579MHz.What is the right value?
                Thanks for help

                  1266 frequency

                  Dear Satel-
If you use a 38Khz crystal and the CD4024 Q3 output (divide by eight) you will get a 4.75KHz output. The 1266 operator manual lists 4.8Khz in the specifications.
I don't have a clue what the 1266 coil inductance is, but 2.6mH resonates nicely with 440nH (two 220nH in parallel).

Attached is a screen shot from a LTSpice (freeware) similation. You can't see my cursor position on the spectrograph spike, but the lower left hand corner lists frequency and amplitude of the peak.

I used some models downloaded from the LTSpice user's group website. Unfortunately, CD4024 and LM193 models aren't part of the the basic LTSpice download. But hey, Linear Technology doesn't build metal detectors

I don't know how close a Fisher 1265-X is to the 1266, so this may be useless information. However, the 1265-X has a frequency of 4.8kHz, and (depending on the serial number) uses either a 77.28kHz or 76.8kHz crystal.

You have done a grate job with the CZ5 schematics. Did you make some progress with these schematics since then? I think that I have some corrections for it. If you have an update scematics or a block diagram- it would help me to maintanence my CZ5. Your reply will be hightlly apreciated.
