  • Replacing the GoldScan selector with an Electronic Selector and Digital Indicator

Greetings, I am thinking of replacing the 4-pole triple selector (SW1) with an electronic selector. Would it be convenient to use bilateral switches like the CD4066 or should I use mini relays?

On the other hand, and due to the difficulty of obtaining analog indicators in my country, I would like to replace it in my project with a digital indicator, perhaps with a small OLED screen that shows a moving needle. Would this modification add strange high frequency noise to the detector? I read suggestions and will take them into account. Thank you.

      Hello
If you are an enthusiast, you are asking about Goldscan4, you want to use analog switches, I suggest using CD4051, as for the display, you must realize that Goldscan already consumes about 1.65 A. I have constructed Goldscan 6, the range is satisfactory, but the discrimination is a lot to wish for.
      Regards

Bilateral switches should work, just be careful that the switch resistance does not affect the circuit.

You would need a micro to drive this and the micro will have clock noise. However, with careful placement it should not affect performance.

Following your recommendations, I will design the electronic selector and the screen and will publish it in this forum to make corrections or improvements. I will take into account any suggestion. Thank you.
