For good results - you need FET with big voltage(>>100V) and small Rdson...
Most FETs - Diode is fake....

I test IRF9640 from International Rectifier and Fairchild Semiconductor with my project(look avatar) - with constant coil - BIG differences, IRF is fake, Fairchild have good amplitude - where is the problem... maybe the reverse diode...

                sorry for my English

mine english is such do not worry
I remember Eric F. wrote about some clipping of amplitude on MOS-FET's. but I think you did meet with faked/false transistors, this is very famous fact in our part of the world. I can give a link with photos on the subject, if you are intresting and read in russian.

In the site that you post i found everything except this that i am interesting now. The coil details. But never mind ...... what to do. we know the other way........ experiment.
                        My regards

                        OK Geo,

What coil, maybe IF it is the same, looks like it could be ,
http://mdetectors.com/product_info.p...products_id=71 if you find image on site and maybe ask what coil they sell with commercialized PD3200? maybe you`ve seen it already. The user manual looks same.

                        Best regards

Hi Nic . I found details for the MD3200 coil. But Yes the photo that you send here match very much with the PD3200. I saw the manul and the test video and they looks to be the same with the PD3200.
                          Thanks for your interesting
                          Have a nice day

How ot look at old dead websites!!

                                I have a cunning plan.......

If you have the ORIGINAL URL of the PD3200 then try this link with that URL, it MAY bring up a cached version of the now defunct website. This works with ANY website BTW.
