  • Medical Ultra Sonic

Cant we use the medical ultrasonic imager as an Imaging system instead of wasting, spending time on GPR/PI/LRL etc etc

Lets all together join hands and build this ultrasonic imager for better resolution, increase the power of Tx and we get a better depth etc etc...

There is no time wasted when using PI. PI will find metal below the ground better than any known ultrasonic today. The amount of time necessary to modify ultrasonic transducers and design imaging methods is much longer time than necessary to go to the metal detector dealer and buy a PI detector that is ready to work today. Least amount of wasted time is to buy a metal detector and begin searching for targets the same day.

    Best wishes,

J Player I do understand you, all machines have their own drawbacks.....but people are working with ultra sonic imaging to kill female foetus, these machines are already in the market and doctors are successful in killing....and these machines are working perfect, so there will be no waste of time in designing these machines

        Hi sharky,

Maybe you will be wasting less time to call your doctor to bring his ultrasonic imager to find buried gold. Do you think this is a better method than to bring a metal detector?

        Best wishes,

Yesss Player u are far absolutely right but what about others who doesnt like to see a doctor, may be u need to help them in the sonics

Others who do not like to see a doctor cannot come to me. I am a person who does not believe the doctor's ultrasonic machine can find gold in the ground as well as a metal detector. So he must get the doctor to bring the ultrasonic imager, not me.

There is a discontinuity in going from air to ground (and back again) that would prevent the ultrasound from penetrating the ground. Same problem in medical ultrasound, which is why they have to grease up mum's tum. Same problem in towing a side scan sonar above the water, instead of in the water.

So you would need cover the ground with grease, or maybe something biodegradable, like peanut butter.

Hmmmm... I wonder how deep the ultrasound would find gold if you put the transducer in a puddle of peanut butter?
Maybe when the ultrasound moves beneath the peanut butter puddle, it reaches another discontinuity of maybe dry soil. Maybe this works best in wet soil. Maybe difficult to cover much ground carrying peanut butter jars. Maybe you find the gold faster with a PI detector. Think so?

                  Hi carl NC
Discontinuty at 2 different surfaces !!! ...may be these are not good waves... a wave is a one which doesnt show discontinuty. EM waves doesnt show dicontinuity except at the edges of space time wraps or when 2 different dimensions graze across together like a 3rd dimension grazing across 4th dimension and the like or when a wave is travelling from one dimesion to other dimension it shows non isotropic properties like it doesnt travel back in most cases....

Sharky - I think you are lost in space.

                      Hi,
from which universe are you posting sharky ???

Man the 3rd the 4th dimension... wow...

Why you want to scan using ultrasonic waves the soil ???
If you need a GPR use e.g. VHF or UHF!

Can't see any advantage using ultrasonic waves to penetrate ground starting from air... apart the huge dose of peanuts butter needed.

About discontinuity... is not the wave that has it... are two different "mediums" (air and soil) that have one at interface... like when you have refraction of light e.g. from air to water... density of air is not the same of water.

Similar thing happen using sonic and ultrasonic waves... different reflection indexes in different mediums... and so your ultrasonic waves could bounce back if you don't use the peanuts butter!

                      Do you understand me ?

                      Kind regards,
                      Max
