  • Chech Sabre modified

Somebody, somewhere posted link to some Chech site. I went there and downloaded some files. Right now i dont remember link?
But, this project is more that interesting! Wow!
It is not Sabre any more, it is quite new (better) design.
I intend to make it asap.
    For those interested...

    Hi Ivconic,

Glad to hear you are feeling better.
I think your information may have come from here -> http://www.hq-elektronic.eu/
Perhaps you can translate for us. There appears to be a project there called "Sabre Digital".

Yes it was that link! Thanks!
BTW, same as you, i do not understand a word in Chech language!?
Yes we are Slavs both (Chech and Serbs) but still huge differences in languages...Same with other Slav languages...!? Funny?
Only "close" language i can partially undestand is Bulgarian and eventually Ukranian...
      Shame...
      BTW Regards Quiaozhi!

I'ts a project from ZdenekHQ (this is his website).
If you have any question you can ask him direct on his forum
          http://www.hq-elektronic.eu/forum/vi...0ad53f426c2e56

Or you can ask me - if i know something about this

Czech language (not chech) is my hobby - more than english

Thanks TXP! Actually i am a bit out of this works, for a while. Right now i cant imagine what to ask for translation. But in a month or two i will return to projects and than maybe i will ask for some translations. Besides, schematics are done very good, speaks itself more than words.
            Anyway thanks!
            Regards!

              Hi,
took a look at it just now... it's interesting!

It's a mod sabre... with miltitone-id and pinpoint mode.... the rest is really close to our version...though not exactly equals.

Seems a good project having PCB to do it... but can't beat TGS on depth sector... so I think at it as an improvement on some lacks of original TGS if all is made right way.

We had the ideas of making multitone and pinpoint mode too... but then circuit become complicated and large...

              Kind regards,
              Max

Yes..indeed. I have those pcb's ready, only need to buy components.
Anyway i decided to make it. When finished i will post here first experiences with it.
These days i am working on Eldorado. Didnt like posted pcb i DXF format so now i am drawing my own pcb. It will take a while.
Reason i am making Eldorado is full nonmotion feature. I will never forget joy working with CScope1220B, nonmotion also. TGSL is done as project, as i am concerned. Hell of a detector, working excellent and i decided to leave it as it is. I will produce those the same without any further mods. So now Eldorado is new to come on my bench. If it turns to work as i do expect, than i will be very satisfied cose i am gonna be fully equiped. One very good motion and one very good nonmotion.
Nonmotion like Eldorado will have only one (conditionaly) lack; frequent adjustments to ground conditions. Not a big deal, as i remember i had not much problems with CScope 1220B working on the fields.
Usually it took to readjust it at every 5-6 meters, in some cases rarelly.
Kind a used on holding thumb to reset button.
Benefits will be obvious, much better sensitivity and what is most important good discriminating predictions(if i may say this way).
Not to mention "pinpointing"....actually whole concept of nonmotions is more accurate target locating, target size and depth "predictions"...
This way we can really pull out maximum from device.
                Anyway...need to wait and see.
                Regards Max!

For multitone is used notch filter circuit. Its easy. U can set discrimination for reject bad metals and then set notch for another tone for selected metals, e.g. alu-foil etc.

I am making new project now - "Sabre Digital" . It will be only "one channel", but it will be multiplexed (virtual 8-channel detector) and setting will be stored in EEPROM.

                    Hi ZdenekHQ,
really interesting mods. Keep us informed!

                      Hi,

                      Hi ZdenekHQ,
Can you translate this SABRE ADVANCED in English for us PLEASE?
Its obvious now that TGS is the most interesting detector in this forum.
And most of us sucseeded to make a unit for them selfs.
I see that you love Golden Sabre too and you have make very interesting detector buy modifying it this way.
                      I am impresed!!!!
                      What coil did you use?
                      Thanks

                        Hello

                        Hello,
                        Ivconic and ZdenekHQ.
Can someone provide me information how the parts are wired?
I have looked the schematic and PCB many times but still have many unknown thing for me there!Where those most points X goes?
How is this coil been Temperature balanced?Because I saw such feature on one homemade device yesterday. But there were two potenciometers and you wach one diode and buy turning them you make diode stop withing and then your coil is temperature balaced, but here I dont see such diode?!?!?
And think there is mistake in schematics too!But not shore maybe I just cant understand the wiarings?
I will be very glad if you help me make this nice METAL DETECTOR.
                        Thanks

p.c.I saw too that on plate A there are tree stripes with elements that are not labeled why?

Sabre Advanced is based on original schematics Golden Sabre, it is wired same as original, with some mods. It is good project, but hard to make for many peoples and you must read all about it (this is main problem, because everything is in Czech language and only one people can translate it all and right - author). For me it was good, but dead project.

BUT - It was very important for my new project Sabre Digital :

Saber Digital - there is no wire - only LCD and few buttons, 2 PCBs are connected 1:1 etc. May be all about it will be translated to English. But here is one problem too - software (without simple demo) cannot be free, it will costs about 20$, because there it too many hours spent on it.

Few pictures (and many Czech words) is here: http://www.hq-elektronic.eu/forum/vi...hp?f=56&t=1000

If you dont understand Sabre Advanced schematics - dont built it and wait for Sabre Digital and start to learn Czech language

About coil - I dont need any temperature balance.

Sorry for my bad English - I am not wont to write in English

                            Hi

                            Hi,
                            Thanks.
I will start learning chesh. But please tell me why you dont need T stability but its in projrct?I am curries because never have used this and wonder how much differance it could give.
Your english is OK dont worry.
Because TGS is favotite here thats why this is so important for us.
But you talk for it like its toy. This LCD ****s dont work like old artilery!!!!Look many climbe that.
                            Anyway thank for info.
                            Hope can talk here

If you used bad materials (polystyrene boards etc.) for coil or big TX power, may be you need "temperature LED", compensation etc. I am using epoxy. Here is too small power and if exist temeperature dependance, this is no problem because it is dynamic detector - only fast signals are detected, slow signal changes are ignored.

About LCD - you need it only for setting. Then you only go and listen multiton.

I will try to explain all about Sabre Advenced here - all X-stripes etc.
