    Hi

    Hi,
    Thanks.
I use also epoxy.Same method that Ivconic show here.I saw that you have also notice geotech work in your forum.
So I am very glad that you will finaly explain to us.I admitt that its very noticable project.RESPECT.

      Hi,

And what about shielding material? What YOU use?

I am using Alu foil. It is low conductivity material (measured with PI detector ) , small TX signal loss. You must use only one ply. I am shielding all coil (RX,TX and compensation coil) and then it must be connected only to shield of cable. Every other wire must use separate shielded wire for connect to detector. If you use it, you will almost not need ground balance, because all "ground capacity efect" will be eliminated.

            Hello,
            Thanks!!!
            What is TXS?
And X15 - external signal (if you use separate pre-amp for RX) what is this?I have made the PCB posted here in this forum.I think its copy of original tesoro golden sabre, but cant understand this parts.
            Thanks.
            Where did you conect scale?
And why you dont use AM/FM mode?
            Thanks

              Hi

And also have wonder for several days.On picture of sabre advanced I can see 2 led diodes. Here you say X14 : LED aku is "dead"
X13 : LED "only 1/3 aku capacity" Only 1 point for diode?Where you conect other pin?
I almost finish this from what I see on your site but still some misteries for me!

TXS is reference signal for pin-point, its connected via K1 to PCB B (see DD3 on pcb B). Pin-point can discriminate Fe and non Fe materials, but you must select good phase - connect to PP1 or PP2.

LED "aku dead" is connected to +8V (anode), cathode to X13.

Signal "aku vyb" - X14 - is connect to pcb B, connector K2, 4. pin from top (labeled "signal aku vybity"). Then detector start beep after accumulator is discharged. Led not used.

I will explain connctors from pcb B too, but here is crazy weather (storm, wind etc.) and I am not sure, when I will have to switch off my PC

For X15 you must use external pre-am, for example, if you have only search coil on holder and all electronics is "on then shoulder" . It eliminates wrong signals.

AM/FM mode is only eperimental, it was intended for future testings.

Scale shows only capacity of baterry, not used for detecting, I was tested some alterations with it, nothing work good. May be you can use it for pinpoint, but VCO signal is better, I dont need any other "alarms"

I made this PCB and whole detector for experimental work, but then I was publish it, because it works good. I know there is many missing info about it. Sabre Digital pcb is made better, with all connectors and simpler wiring.

                  PCB B
                  ******
"see schema" = see scheamtic diagram of PCB B = sab_2.pdf

Connector K1 is conncted to pins with same name on pcb A.

                  Connector K2:
                  *************

"citlivost" (F5) - connected to RP1 (see schema, U1 and parts around)

                  "2-ton", "3-ton", "multiton in" - it is switch between 1,2 or 3-ton. See schema, switch SWP2. F2 = 2ton, F1 = 3ton, F4= "multiton in". This switch have middle possition, e.g. it is on-off-on switch.

"signal aku vybity" - connected to X14, pcb A

"zisk pin-p" - not used, for external setting of pin-point sensitivity (potenciometer). See schema,U5 + F8 and F9.

                  Connector K3:
                  *************

"SRX, /SRX" - connected to pcb A, used for pin-point
"TLC PIN-P" - switch pin-point, is connected to "TLC PIN-P" and -5V (SW5 on schema)
"REPRO" - speaker, connected to REPRO and pin "+REPRO" on pcb A
"GND REPRO" - must be connected to pcb A, pin -AKU (any other ground this pin make detector unstable). Never ground or energize your speaker from same power as other electronics. It must be connected (and grounded) directly to aku or energized from external aku.

"ACCEPT"(F9), "REJECT"(F10), "NOTCH IN" (F11) - this is setting of notch filtr, but is is coupled circuit with main mode switch (see original schema of TGS) and picture http://www.hq-elektronic.eu/sabre/sab_p2.gif

Left switch (on this picture) NOTCH is Accept, Reject and off (on-off-on switch).
Right 3-stage switch is ALL METAL, DISCRIMINATION and PIN-POINT switch. X20,21,22 is conencted to pcb A. F9,10,11 to pcb B. F20 is "TLC PIN-P".

                    Thanks.
Now its almost clear for me.
I were shore that scale were for detecting,but...........no metter. Its good project!
I will try and digital for shore but still not familiar with chips.
I am still wondering on pcb B I think conector 2 Have some Y points what I they.
And also from what I see you make CC coil right?
I can make only DD.Please give some info and tips/former size, number of turns.................../

About CC - I must made new photos, I have only old and very bad. I am using old gramophone for winding.

For TX is used band of cardboard, 8mm - 1cm wide. Coil is flat, 100 turns and shielded with alu-foil. Coils MUST be fixed with good glue.

Here is few pictures of universal holder: http://www.hq-elektronic.eu/drz.html

For RX is used plastic pipe, half diameter of TX. First is wind compensation 25 turns, opposite direction than TX,fixed with glue, then alu-foil, RX coil (180-200t),same direction as TX,fixed with glue, alu foil again.

All alu-foil is connected to shield of cable.

Then fix it with epoxy to universal holder, but only fixed, not potted. After it you must wind last few turns of compensation coil, you must find right direction of winding.

You must use 4-wire shielded cable, dont use same wire for shield and ground of coils (TX is many times grounded, but you must use separate wire for ground and shield).

Its hard to write it in few words.

                          Hi

                          Hi,
                          Thank you very much.
So this is that I were planing to try. What wire d did you use?Because for this dd coils that we have making the wire is 0,25mm bare wire or 0,27 with varnish!?
And one more thing how is this switch composed? The switch for modes?
I mean I can conect allm/disc like in the original design, but I see that you have attached PP to this switch also?Could I conect separete on/off switch for pinpoint rejim? But the allm and disc should be off in this time?
Thanks I will be ready soon and will post my results here.
                          p.s.what were ACU VYB?

For RX I am using 0.25 - 0.35 with varnish, for TX is better 0.4mm, but you can use thinner.

You can use simple switch ALL_MET/DiSC and separate PP, when PP is activated, ALL_MET/DiSC is automatically switched off.

ACU VYB is ativated when power of accumulator is under 10.5V. You can use LED - anode to +8V, or connect it to pcb B, then detector start "beeping".

Power +8V is set to 9.3V - its working better.

See second "tuning" here (PCB B) : http://www.hq-elektronic.eu/sabre/sb_tun1.jpg

It eliminate false signals, you can set better sensitivity.

                              hi

I cant understand last part but we have time for this.
The pictures on your site are cool!!!But I will glad to see this new photos!
Can you draw a simple picture/paint....etc./of the wierings of coil.Because its look that I havent wired my coil the way you say!And I have no pasient to try your version.
                              Thanks.

                                Hi

This is the part that i cant understand:
See second "tuning" here (PCB B) : http://www.hq-elektronic.eu/sabre/sb_tun1.jpg

It eliminate false signals, you can set better sensitivity.

You mean that I should make something afther my unit is ready to optimize its performance, but from this picture I cant understand what exacly.
And you mean that this VYB is not used on the PCB that you have posted on your site? Also AM/FM part, but I see those elements there and the traks for them.So I just dont solder this?Right?
Thanks again I were never going to understand most things without your help!
p.s.is there schematic of amlifer that is puted in search head to amlify the signal?
