I have not made this PI, but not grounding the metallic case is a common problem. I assume you're not actually touching any of the circuit components to cause the beeping?
Perhaps you simply do not have enough decoupling caps fitted.

    • Thanks Qiaozhi! Even I touch the minus on the batteries it follows a beeping. Or, If I turn some of the potentiometers even through plastic knob. I think, if I have a metallic corpus (in my case it is plastic) even then if I touch the corpus will follows a beeping.

To all – please excuse my English!

      Regards!

      • try to invert the two wire of the coil, in your photo the red wire with the ground wire of the coil.

        • Thanks for the idea Cordius, but not difference. Anyway – Surf PI works very well. If there was a discrimination, it was going to be a dream.

                  • Surf PI PCB

                    Hi guys,

Do any of you have a working PCB diagram for the Surf PI in either a GIF or JPG format that you could post here please?

I cant download the Sprint viewer due to restrictions on the computer I use so the layout files are of no help.

                    Would really appreciate any help.

                    Thanks, Jim.

                              Hi erolunall

Thanks very much for the files you have posted. I have managed to download Sprint and after working around the printing restrictions on the free version I have printed and etched the board from the layout file posted by Apberg.

I can confirm that this PCB / detector DOES WORK VERY WELL. Many thanks to Apberg and others for sharing their work - thank you guys.

I am just a day or two away from having this detector ready for use at the beach, will post some pics when its finished.

Does any one know what the modifications are that Mr Bill makes ???

                              Regards, Jim.
