Hello Nelson , Here is the complete parts list I Made this morning "FOR EVERYONE" to copy and RE-CHECK of this GREAT underwater PI Project !!!!!............. And the answer to your question is : they are both P-channel power mosfets , the IRF 9640 has better specs . If the IRF9630 is all you have , then use it but it may fail , because the current rating is much lower , see the pdf files[courtesy of fairchild semiconductor] ............Regards..................Eugene52

Hi Eugene and thanks for your fast reply.
Yes i saw that curret lemit is much lower, but i ll try it.
After that i ll post my reults.
By the way were are you from Eugene. I m from Santiago, CHILE , SA.
        Kind regards

Hello Nelson , I live in the United States , approximately 10 miles west of Las Vegas , a community called Summerlin , in Nevada which is in the "Desert" Southwest of USA......................Before I forget , here are photo's again of "Beautifull P.I. Machines" made by two Geotech-Forum members here , JoeCoin and JLKing , both are Hammerhead PI's , but notice they put the important potentiometers on the case , for easy access !!! We should do that here for this Surf PI !!!.......................Regards..........Eugene

            Hi Eugene.
Nice pictures . Yes i agree that when you make a metal detector, is very important that you keep access to all important controls of every machine.
My sufmaster is under construction and i m planning to place the circuit inside of a PVC tube.
If all goes good, i m planning to make more units in diferent cases. Experimenting is such fascinating thing i like to do.
I don´t know Nevada, but i lived in Missisippi, Sacramento and Bethesda, Maryland in 1980 thru 1982.
My english is not good by know, but i do the best i can.
            KIng regards
            Nelson

Hi Ivconic, today i just finish Whites Surfmaster Pro.
My question now is, how to setup offset and delays pots?
I admit that i only played with the circuit with a small coil, not tune for surfmaster. Indeed, i don´t know his inductance and even his resistance, but the circuit it does work, so tomorrow, i ll make a good coil.
It really looks to me that this detector it will work very goodl
              Regards
              Nelson

My approach to this was everything but not serious, from a start. Yet it started to work very good and i was suprised much. I am very satisfied now and do intend to pay more attention and time to this nice project.
How to adjust those...well i did that pretty skimly using "subjective sense".
Just swing with coin over coil and turn trimmers to gain best result. That's what i did.
Just recently i realised that this long pcb does not suit my demands, conditions and packings...so, i would like to draw my own pcb to match exact dimensions and to suit enclosures i have available here.
But...this what i made is modified version, i dont have accurate schematic of it. Pretty occupied to trace pcb and draw schematic....hmmmm.
Is there right schematic for this modified Surfmaster?
Would be nice if someone post that here...

                  Hi Ivconic.
Same has me, i just build the pcb, mount the components and started to play.
Yes , i think the best way to set it up, is to pass a coin over the coil, and adjust boths trimmers until you get the best performance.
Also i can see that this long pcb, is the surfmaster pro, cause it has the 15uS mod on it. if i m wrong, please let me know.
About the pcb, here you can find a one side pcb that i think will meet your requirements.
Here i will re-post the files that got.
Rigth now i ll go make my coil, so after a few tries i ll post my results.
                  Regards
                  Nelson

                          hi Eugene52

I feel myself confused, the underwater surf-p.i.txt is the complete parts list for the 200x35 mm pcb or for the Aris 160x100 mm ?

                          Tks

I ask to remove it on the forum.

Does anyone know the correct inductance and resistance values or surfmaster coil?

Hello Massimo , I made the parts list From the original schematic , not from the PCB !!
And when I posted I told everyone to please Re-Check the parts list , because it might not be 100% correct . It is just to give a general idea of what is needed to build the circuit. The only way to have a accurate parts list , is if we are able to extract the parts list from a 100% correct Sprint lay-out file of this PI metal detector....Did you know there are now 3 versions of this Surf PI Metal Detector ? On this Geotech Forum are several schematics with more than one version . Example : Like the Golden Sabre Full version , ApBergs Goldy , Ivconics Golden Sabre Light 1265............If you have spare time , you are welcome to correct or improove the parts list............Thank-You.................Regards............Eugene52
