This guy was claiming to be an authorised repairer, but my comments to him were that as far as I am aware YOU are the only authorised Tesoro repairer I know of in the eu (that's IF you class Great Britain as being part of europe).
The reason I griped about his prices were he was offering to repair some guys machine at a stupid price, given the problems the user was describing. BTW this was a German forum. I'll see if I can find out more about him and talk to Frank If I can.

Thank you all for your help, i hope, i'll get my Cibola back very soon.

So in Europe only psychological or cosmetical defects can be fixed?
Fred.

I've tested Tesoro Cibola just last week and was not impressed with performance..
Beside that unit is superlightweight and has good discrimination..
it has very poor sensitivity, poor sound and terrible pinpoint.
king-bo-ho in the meantime waiting for repairs you can make your own GoldenSabre (all informations on this form),
you'll be suprized...

Well, I'm very satisfied with the Cibola. It's a good allround-detector and i've found good things with it.
Is the instruduction written in the forum? Sounds pretty interesting...Where can I find it?

Maybe the Cibola you've tested was defective, mine detects a 1 euro coin at 37-38 cm solid... 41-42 broken (airtest, max sensivity without falsing), pinpoint is absolutely spot on even on discrimination mode.

Hi Jonas and king-bo-ho,
I've tested Cibola today (air test, only had european coinage):
2EUR......23.5cm to 26cm*
50c........24cm to 25cm
20c........23cm to 24.5cm
5c.........22cm to 23cm
*Shorter range for slow movements, longer range for fast movement (tipical for motion-type MDs).
Sensitivity (10) and treshold set almost at maximum (this would produce false signals on ground for sure)
Coil 25cm x 22cm (co-elliptical)
Shame on me as I did not test with 1EUR coin
king-bo-ho, I do not want to undermine your MD-ing. All of us know the value of operator behind the device and also Cibola showed some good points - I specially like super-lightweight design.
If you have the time you can upgrade your hunting arsenal with Tesoro Golden Sabre (TGS) or it's light version (TGSL). Everything about it (and more) is written in thread below. https://www.geotech1.com/thuntings/s...ad.php?t=12692
You can probably use Cibola coils so you are already half-way there
Have a nice time.

Sorry Leto, my mistake, my values are for a 2 Euro coin, not 1 euro
But my test procedure is different, do it this way: threshold to maximum, sensitivity as high as you can whitout producing false signals (for me is around the middle of the red line).
I've retested again got the following values with stock coil:
discriminating to minimum, good solid tone, both ways
1 cent -26 cm
5 cent - 29 cm
10 cent - 30 cm
20 cent - 31 cm
1 euro - 33 cm
2 euro - 36 cm
can of red bull - 55 to 56 cm
All metal, threshold set at a slight hum, sensivity to max without falsing
1 cent - 33 to 34 cm
2 cent - 35 to 36 cm
5 cent - 36 to 37 cm
10 cent - 36 to 37 cm
20 cent - 38 to 39 cm
1 euro - 42 to 43 cm
2 euro - 44 to 46 cm
can of red bull - 75+ cm
at your settings for a 2 euro coin got 26 cm to 29 cm (slower/faster), broken tone up to 31 cm
as you can see just slight different settings will give different results, so all test values are to be taken as a guide.
