  • Thanks for update Max,
I think it will work without the inductor too, for testing at least.

If you see places where components are too close together or something please let me know.

    Regards,
    Fred.

      Hi,
I think I found a mistake there... I cannot find the 1M2 resistor on PCB... noticed just few minutes ago.

I think I will add it under the PCB.

About inductors I have many but made expecially for RH two custom 15mH and 1mH today.... Already soldered.

I avoided using the transformer kind of shape and used instead a neosid support/core that was of an 22mH inductor.

Same I've done at 1mH part... made it and used acrylic varnish as finiture...

PS: about space... the PCB is small but right for most parts... troubles I had at 470nF caps, 1uF and 470uF too... too close one each other... and space is so few.

I'm around 45% of parts now... it's a little monster this RH!

      Kind regards,
      Max

      • Hi Max,
Yes i have seen the resistor is missing. But i should be able ot make it fit.

If you have time you could show me where there is problems so i can try to make it better.

I wonder what happened to Ivconic?
I wish i could be building it too...

        Regards,
        Fred.

          Hi,
found another bug: there's a repeated 360K resistor there... I solved not mounting one of the highlighted ones in the picture...

          Kind regards,
          Max

              Max,
Is D1 supposed to be a straight diode or a 3.3V Zener? I know that Coinseeker was a cheapened version of Coin Hawk without many of the features, but the oscillator circuit is essentially identical except for the diode that you have labled D1.

                    Hi,
yes, right... in RH schematic we have it's reported as a regular diode... but it cannot work this way so I think too there's a zener diode there...and now that I saw your simulations I'm sure of that, thanks.

I'll made another revision with that error corrected.

                    Kind regards,

                      Here's revision 1.5 of schematic.

                      • Hi,
now the question is: can we trust coinseeker schematic about value of that zener diode ?

I don't know... but I see change few if you use 3v6 or even 6v2 zeners there, at least I cannot notice any difference.

It works also with a regular diode (but reversed respect to original schematic that's wrong way), but I think the zener solution is right cause a reverse polarized normal diode make no sense to me there.

I don't remember if I have 3v3 (I think yes) but otherwise will use 3v6.

                        Kind regards,
                        Max

                        • Hello Max
I am interested in which program is made oscillator simulation?
                          Thank you in advance.

                            Hi,
it's SwitcherCad (LTspice) by linear technology, you can download for free.

                            Kind regards,

                              here's simulation with 3v3.

There's about 25Hz modulation of the 5Khz carrier...

                              Kind regards,

this is revision 1.6 , corrected bad voltage pins at U10.

                                PCB is already right way.

                                Kind regards,
