      Obviously there is no shield!?

When Ground balanced - most probably it is drifting from time to time? Isn't that so?
It is probably also pretty sensitive to temperature changes? Drifting again?
It is probably early '80 or late '70 model?
So if you still like it and want to hunt with it, you can make significant improvement by applying Faraday shield on that coil.
Since it is concentric - it is more advisable to make shield by spraying it with graphite powder spray than to apply Al foil tape (more easier).

          C.Scope 950

There is a VLF/TR 950 for sale quite cheaply - would it be worth buying? The manual states 10" depth for coins for the all metal CS220. It has a DD coil, so that might be a good candidate for my non-motion detector?

If it is cheap than it is worth to buy.
That is the old one, probably you will not be thrilled with it's performances.
But at least you will enter the non motion world with it and see what is all about.

                Hi Sean
Looking for the a instruction book and coil specs plus circuit diagram for the TR990D the site has for the 950 which looks the same but would be nice to have the proper one.
It works fine just like to see circuit configuration plus i like to make a better coil for it.
                Many thanks in advance
                Regards

                  @Sean_Goddard :
I've got a cs660 and I'm looking for the schematic and any others informations (Coil datas, tweak, ...) about it.
I already got the user manual.
What can you do for me ?
                  Regards,
                  Hugo

As a dealer I could NOT give out such information ( if I had it) openly .

I do not have that information about the 950 (only been a dealer for three years).

The best I can do is supply machine as good prices.

                        CScope Metadec1

                          Saludos!

I have some troubles reading the schematic, can anyone confirm the frequency this rig operates at, and where are D1 and R12 connected?

Otherwise, I like the way phase is set by Johnsons counter and a PLL. TGSL uses delay instead, and here is the phase extracted directly. I thought of this concept as a delay mechanism for PI as well.
