    Amazing.
just google "microwave oven metal melting"

      Hi,
      pure silicon ?

Purifing at which level ? Cause if wanna make hyperpure, electronic grade you don't need just induction heater but also swing the piece or coil... not easy.

Then you need a protective atmosphere also not air.

Sodium metal ? Is so highly reactive... are you sure you wanna make/purify by induction heating...?

Also, nytrogen oxide is toxic... and can be lethal at higher doses...chlorine...even more, S02 is toxic too... and lethal also in right concentrations...

If you wanna really make all that stuff (you're brave man) you need to take required precautions... cause not only start a fire could be a problem but also gases and poisonous materials...

you probably need an insulated chamber for make that stuff... with modified (inhert) atmosphere... say you need lot of pure argon to stay safe... and evacuate the chamber from air during apparatus run.

Not easy... and costs much if wanna make seriously and don't hurt yourself or others.

Also 10-20kw induction heater is quite scaring... if you're not absolutely sure what to do and what not.

My advice... is... think many many times before you try really.

      Kind regards,
      Max

An old article refers how to hot, for example, a copper plate very rapid with electromagnet made by yourself. Also this article refers is possible to cook an egg over an adequate plate, etc. This electromagnet works directly from 110 V.

If you build it, take care! All isolations are needed here!

                Hmmmmm....
                insulations ?

                What are them ?

Don't you mount Tesla's coils without varnish and all the rest ???

Don't you stand close... in wet climate to the sharp tip... buzzing in the air ???

                Kind regards,
                Max

Of course, well barnished. Here is used 15,000 V. The system charge a capacitor via timer and relay. One extreme of coil is free to the sharp short antenna. This charge as flash camera style.

Kitchen microwave ovens are cheap. 1KW is common. Can melt most metals. If you heat Pyrex glass with a torch to get a spot red hot and pop it into the oven, You can continue the process with microwaves and melt the batch. Chose the crucible well as any failure in the crucible will most likely cause liquid metal to flow into the oven and melt the machine's base as well. DO NOT USE THE WIFE'S MACHINE AND DO NOT DO THIS IN THE HOUSE.! Saw a video of a guy that made a small batch of black powder and tested it in the dinning room. It was like the old flash powder, POFF!!! Flash!!! Smoke!!!!!! And a very black face and very startled dude!!! Would like to have been there when the wife asked what the hel*???????!!!!
