  • Metal Detector in a CD Case

I recently spotted this home-buiilt BFO detector inside a plastic case for CDs that will easily fit in your coat pocket. This design uses only 2 cmos ICs and no other semiconductors. It can be used for finding nails in walls, or determining which cereal box contains the LED flashlight prize inside.

The simple circuitry can be easily modified for different size coils, or added audio stages for use in other applications. (Have you considered building this design into your shoe soles, for places where metal detecting is prohibited)?

See details and schematic here: http://web.telia.com/~u43200663/tech...aldetector.htm

    Have fun with it,

That's quite innovative, to put it in a CD case.

Actually not... I've used already the CDROM case option... the metal box I mean...
