Hi kt315, hi amtech2005, thanks very much! I have a "saved" inductor not burn wich shows 15 uH as the list of manual. Regarding the list of manual, the 3 are 15 uH.

Nelson, The modification for this 63-3006ss should be identical to the 63-3005 modification posted a few months ago. Kt315 will translate the russian page when he reads your post above, if not I will post some of the information later...These are the 4 "Cheapest" Micronta VLF'S from Radio Shack that I know of. And now a bunch are being "Made in China" for Harbor Freight , Vellemans, and the Famous Trails in the last photo which is identical to Estebans also !!!...........Eugene

The detector you posted in box I buy from internet for to use parts, as the telescopic wand, box, etc., only for this. You can mount another MD in this. But the detector you show in box is bad.

Nelson dear. I never keep this detector in my hand. the link I gave has nothing on the updates and cause I do not see deep sense to waste a time on this translate. there are category of people who does money, only money. so from their advertising you can take NOTHING of info. try e-mail him privately, ask him give you the schematic with updates.

                yours

                  Radio Shack

The detector with the 5 control knobs"Estebans" and the detector with the 6 control knobs"IVCONICS" These two detectors can be much improoved!!!!! Look at the schematics for the "15 KHZ" detector called the "SHADOW" . The transmit oscillator and most of the circuit is the SAME. It had very good depth. The same can be done for the "63-3005" and "63-3006". I always get the numbers mixed up too !!!! ......But anyway look at the schematic and see L-1,Q-1 and R-3 , this has been designed for maximum current through emitter-collector and of course through L-1 the transmit coil.........See the schematic !!!!!!!!!.....Also we will get more information added later ...Take care everyone..............Eugene

At 1982 i constructed it. A very good detector for its age.
                    Depth ... about 25cm for a coin.

Hello Geo , 1982 was a great year for me !!! I was working on "TWT-KLYSTRONS" FOR NAVAL RADAR SYSTEMS , KA , KU BAND and of course "PWM'S" , Puse width Modulator's...... I sure miss those good old days !!!! "It's funny how we make changes in Life , and then we look back and wish we had NOT made those Changes" !!!!.....Back in 1982 I had a BIG "GARRETT-LUNCH-BOX" metal detector I was using..........Take Care......Eugene

                        Radio Shack

Geo , I believe the Detector I had in 1982 was the Garrett ADS-1 the first or second model of the ADS series. Anyway , I am waiting for the results of these Radio Shack mods also and to hear about the measured depth increases..........Eugene

                          Hi Eugene.
What years!!! No Internet... no schematics... only magazines here from Greece and some from USA, France... Italy etc. What a happy if a magazine had a schematic for detector. This schematic of Radio-Shack (or Altec or Micronta) was the first VLF that i constructed !!!!!
                          What Years!!!!! Nice Years
                          Regards

                              Model 43149

I just bought this detector today. It is my first one. Mine is sold by Harbor Freight and looks identical so i assume that it is the same one. Can i assume that it will work to some degree? I know that it is a low end model but i wanted to see if the hobby was worth spending money on for me.
