I now have the Gen-Tech and want to add a vibrating motor to the circuit. What is the best way to do this?

    Gen-Tech pinpointer

    Hey guys,

What is the best way to add a vibrating motor to the pinpointer? Which part of the circuit would drive this device, would it be the same as the output for the small on board speaker?

You can use this configuration, remember that motor sucks energy and can create disturbance in circuit. So is better here small electronic fan motor common in computer, better with independent battery. You can select audio and vibration as indicators via the switch. But if you use independent battery you must add an extra switch. This vibrating method is useful in submarine exploration. If this is the case you can use reed switch and magnets for the switch/s.

        DC Motor

Would this also apply to the small vibration motor that could be salvaged from a pager or old cell phone. I was able to located this type at radio shack, less than $5.00 but just not sure how to install in the circuit.

        Thanks,
