  • Easiest PCB and Schematic making software !

I will posting a list of pcb "printed circuit board" software and "easy schematic drawing" software that I know of . Then , other Geotech members can add to the list if they want , and even make comments !! This is a new year , and it will be nice to find some new software for a change , something new and different . It will be great to find some drag.n.drop schematic software , if they make it ? Be able to take different schematic symbols and drag them to different grid positions and then build up a schematic , and then with the final schematic , press a button and a nice circuit layout is made . Hopefully this is free software and not one thousand dollars [$1000.00] like Altium PCB !!!!!..............Comments are very welcome....This is a NEW YEAR 2009 , let's get this rolling !!.........Thank-You.......Eugene52

Hi, I am using 'Circuit Wizard' pro version from a company called new wave concepts. I find it very easy to use and quite inexpensive compared to others.
The website offers a free demo version. My only little complaint is that the component library (1500 components) could be more complete, however you can add your own models. It offers simulation, autoroute, schematic design and capture, Gerber, N.C. drill and Dfx file export, good list of instruments. Meters, scope, function gen, logic analizer, etc.

Hope its ok to post the link.

Hello Headshed22 , Welcome to Geotech !!!!!!! A Great Link you posted !!! Thank-You . I definitely will try this software . I have not found any prices yet , but I am sure it cost's far less than "U.S. priced" circuit software . I think there are more kit builders and Electronic Hobbyist's "per capita" in the U.K. and in Europe , then there are in the U.S. . Because I do find alot more kit's for sale posted on Uk websites . Example is that Magenta site that sells the Micro-controlled Metal detector , and all the pic-programmers . Anyway , I am glad you posted this link ......Have a Great Day !!.................Regards.............Eugene52

I use PCB wizard Pro but library is not complete. Easy to use for simple circuit, for example is not present LM317 to built regulate power supply, very difficoltouse for metaldetector application. In the logic integrate circuits like 4066 or 4011 etc, voltage pins are hidden and are connected automatically at battery, for example is not possible to wire voltage pin at ICL7660 (non present in library) or in other parts of the circuit.
A good and complete software for design and autoroute integrated is DIP TRACE it have complete library and very easy to use.
