Wanted! for old Garrett Speed King

I have had this old metal detector for at least 15 years. it says Garrett Speed King 2D Wide Scan on the side and there is a patent number on a tag Pat. # 3665522. The Patent seems to be for the coil and not the machine itself. what I need is a power supply, the battery tray is missing and I doubt I will find one so improvisation is in need. I need a wiring diagram. I can see at the back of hole where the tray belongs there is a connector with 5 or 6 prongs on it and that is as far as i have gone. I have been searching for someone or some direction before I take it apart. any help?
