  • Classic again!?

    To those interested.
    Back to old love!
I decided to back again to White's Classic III - old love!
First i need to make "original" device and than intend to do some mods.
There are numerous pcb designs on this subject already. Dont like neither one of those, so decided to make another pcb.
Fist tihings comes first, pcb is ready. Than to make it. And when checked and works than to experiment with new ideas...
And new (old) ideas are tone discrimination (vco) and few things more.
I think this project is more appreciative to mod further than TGSL. Already have strong output (this time i added trimmer to adjust amplitude), 2 channels and pp mode, unlike TGSL.
    So....job is waiting!

Good and right decision, ivconic, I can only say.

And don't forget to add volume pots in mod (maybe simple by replacing R46 by Pot and R?)!!!!

In set with 11" DD coil the best machine in class for sure.

      Go ivi go !!!!!!!

        Hi Ivonic,
        Problems in your PCB.
        - C33 is pin 3 not pin 2.
        - C22 is forgotten.
        - C36 is electrolytic.
        - C3 is between R12/R14/R15 and U1 pin 6.
        - R16 is between R12/R14/R15 and ground.
        - C24 is forgotten.
        - Two R7 ?
        - Resistor between VR2 and ground ?

          Hi ivconic,
Take a look to this mod, it works very nice.

Patrick you are absolutelly right! I already founded 2 mistakes. But you founded 6 !!! Bravo! You are right!
I corrected all except C36. C36 can be added in air over the pcb, closest to coil connector - i even think it is better that way.
Thank you very much! You saved me nervs and time cose i already made pcb and for sure should have a lot of problems when finish soldering components. Now i can correct those before first switch On! Thanks again!
            Very Best Regards!

Daemon yes it is very nice mod! It is the very same schematic i used except 4060 part. I also rejected MC34063 part. Also splitted LMC6484 to two dual opamps cose intend to experiment there and need those stages separated.
But 4060 part i like and most probably will include it in next version. This version i posted now is prototype for experimenting. Basic platform. I am focused now mostly on power at TX and audio vco. Have idea to use separate audios for both channels. Why? To better control iron channel.
But also want to use one speaker driven by 2 separate audio stages!!! Problem!
              To be continued....

Hi ivconic, your PCB seems a little conical. Are you intend to do such design?

ivconic, can use any part of my schematic you like of. 4060 part you can do on any divider. also can to take outer generator on comparator or 4000 CMOS. I have not 1266 and did not hear his pulse-width modulation audio... so I am not able appreciate the thing... is it better than ordinary audio or not. must to hear it before...

KT315 that is very interesting schematic. Looks even better than previous one i reposted. I will reconsider to make it also.
What can you say about it's performances? How good is GEB and immunity to ground conditions?
I dont like power supply part. Maybe i can change it to ordinary, already seen at CL3 ?
