What transistors are you use at Tx out in replacement of KT315 and KT361?? Also did you saw how strong is the signal at the in of 2R4 (1K)??

Suggested 2N2222 and 2N2907.
At 1K is 2vpp. After 1K (to 2x16K) signal is ~0.2vpp...

This looks like a pretty interesting detector. Can somebody explain what kind of coil and tank capacitor is supposed to be used for tx? (Rx also?)

If the Tx output stage works ok, the output will be high so you need coil with thick Tx wire. My Tornado coil from Sovereign has 0.65 diameter wire at Tx.
I will try today to run the Tx output stage at Simulator so to see where is the problem.
