    Hi ivconic,
At first glance it looks like one of the CS1220 models, probably the 1220XD.
    Nice find, Thank you.

                Anyone built this yet?

                Hi guys,

Is it a 1220 or a 990? and what do people think of the validity of the schematic?
If it looks like it will work then i am very tempted to build it as my friend has a 1220 and its a great machine.

                Regards Jim.

I'm going with the 990 as the 1220 has a VCO and I can't see on e on here. Might be an older version like the 1200 or 3000 though, but I think more like 990

this circuit belongs to the 990 B, has some error

Yes the 1220's VCO for audio discrimination is what appeals to me! Very easy to quickly decide whether to dig targets on a beach where junk and coins abound.

What are the errors on the schematic?

miss some resistance on the two ca 3140 and some parts of the oscillator circuit are wrong, I know very well these metal detectors, are very popular in Italy for military research WW1
                          sorry for my English

This may be of some help (or not) This is the inside of my 990-B which has audio disc( plus meter) --the main reason I like it so much--it "growls" at all iron targets.

you can not distinguish very well what else is in the ground by the tone produced by the VCO, in northern Italy is among the best sellers for the search war WW1
