WOW Edward Fletcher on our forum. What took you so long?

    Welcome!!

NOW we'll see some good stuff, your reputation precedes you. At last a UK user who KNOWS what they are talking about!! **Bows in respect**.

SOMEWHERE I have a copy of the original Arado 120 schematic (BTW detector designers will always tell you they put dummy bits into circuits to lput "amateurs" off) looking at the one I have AND the schematic AND with over 30 years experience in reverse engineering military and black box stuff, there are NO false bits in what I see, it's ALL a very simple circuit (sorry Edward, I don't mean to have a "go" at you - just detector designers who wind me up by trying to be something they're not).

Got your book on beach hunting EXCELLENT, but...You missed Lligwy in N.Wales off!! The wreck of the Royal Charter spilled most of it's cargo THERE, not Moelfre as most people think, trouble is, Lligwy is full of slag and brick. I know of NO machine, even a Limeban which will work on that beach!

Arado back in the hobby end of the market ...

Thanks for your kind words in praise of my TH writing, Sean. My keyboard helps me to contribute to the hobby in ways I can't when it comes to electronics.
Brief membership of Geotech Forums has already paid a huge dividend: I've learned that Arado have added a new model to their range, so I now know what to ask for from Santa.
I'm not sure that the following is relevant to this thread, but I have waited many-a-year for the invention of a river-raking tool that can be used from a river bank and raked a few inches into the bed just beyond low water mark. I know one inventor (Bill Robson) who has developed a mini-grab that does something similar, but only vertically from bridges, or a boat. Are there any Wallace & Gromit types among our members?
      Edward

Ted, this place is FULL of Wallace and Gromit's.

If you're ever in North Wales, drop me a PM via this forum ,I've got some cracking beaches which are mainly untouched.

            Arado Users Group

Thanks for your invitation to Wales, Sean .. and thanks to other members for their replies. After some weeks corresponding with Arado buyers/sellers on eBay I have now launched the Arado Users Group. We have fifty members at present, all using old Arado 120s, and most of us worried about where we will find spare parts when the inevitable breakdowns occur. The two newsletters I have edited so far for the Group are available free (as pdf attachments) to anyone who sends me their email address.

                Arado 150

                Hi
I have a customer who is bringing to my workshop a Arado 150 , dont know if he got the 150 write as I didnt think they made a 150, but after ringing him again hes adiment that it is.
Firstly has anyone here got a circuit diagram for it, or maybe the 120, who knows my be similar.
2nd the simptoms is lack of depth and disc gone to pot, in the past with these old Arados its often the coil buggered up, but in a few cases its been capacitors and one I had in was hair line fracture on the pcb.
Anyway if anyone can help with circuit or any other imfomation I will be greatful

                Many thanks in advance

                Regards
