  • Commercial schematics

I've made a decision on posting commercial schematics to the main web site. I will create a new section under metal detectors for them, and use a couple of simple guidelines.

Schematics from companies that are no longer in business -- Teknetics, Gold Mountain, the original Bounty Hunter, etc -- are fair game.

Schematics from companies that are in business, will only be posted if I have explicit permission to do so, regardless of whether the schematic is cleanly reverse-engineered or not. I believe this will not be a problem for models that are obsolete, many of which are good for learning M/D design principles, maybe even better than some of the newer models.

The forum is still open to "unrestricted discussion", if you get my drift, so schematics posted here are not subject to the same guidelines. They just get hard-to-find after a while. I will only step in if I get complaints.

    Re: Commercial schematics

    Congratulations Carl!
I will like to assist you in this initiative. I have some old Fisher( 1210, 1235, 1260 and 1266) and Tesoro (SS, Eldorado, undefined-with notch filter) circuits and can post it if you wish (Of course you can have the same, so pls sign me which models you don’t have).
I will be glad if any other peoples from this forum follow me.
Happy New Year and a lot of health, luck and happiness for you and all metal detector lovers!
    GW

        Re: Commercial schematics

I can send you the manual in electronic format (html - without drawings).

        No schematics. Sorry.

I am willing to set up a forum on which you can place any schematics you have and wish to trade.

Stuff the companies with their "holier than thou" attitutude and their "But that's top secret" lines. If they are so nieve that they think beeper design is difficult, then they should go hide in a corner.

Quite frankly, that's where most of their overpriced, underperforming and overhyped rubbish belongs!

Carl, is there a voting system on this forum? I'll post a vote on whether or not to set up an exchange site.
