  • An interresting schematics collection!

It's a german metal-detector ebook called "Schatzsuche mit Metalldetektoren" (Treasure-Hunting with Metal-Detectors) from 1990 and really contains alot plans and homebrew information! Even someone without german language knowledge can understand it easily if he has some electronic skills.

A good friend of mine scanned it yesterday (who says: That was you! ) and gave me the multiupload link but first I need a go from a moderator here to post it for you all!

If I should get a: please feel free to pm me for the link. I'm back here in a short time. See You.

This is an Elektor book. Therefore you cannot post it here for copyright reasons.

However, it is up to your conscience whether you post it on a file-sharing site such as Rapidshare.

Thank you for your answers - really great that I'm allowed to post the multiupload link here! Enjoy!

Ps.: @kt315: They'll close rapidshare.de on 1st March 2010 and it seems they will delete all files up there. So please hurry if there's important stuff left.

I agree. The book is out of print even. Rather than scanning it into jpegs, it needed to be scanned into adobe acrobat using OCR, so we get the text. Which we could have used a translator on to get a basic English. It's doable if there was another copy available :/
I find page 52 "a dangerous fun" particularly interesting, where it talks about da bombe - literally .

Thanks for your help. Here is the raw output from google translate for those that might be interested. Evidently buried munitions is more of a problem in post WWII Germany. Every once in a while you hear about a buried bomb being uncovered in England as well. I think the point is well made that you shouldn't be hacking away hard with a pick axe if you are detecting in such an area.

                  Now it gets dangerous

@ Technos, that was a really good idea to translate it, because it can save someones life - even kids having metal-detector fun and finding such stuff...

I did translate the text for you all so now it's really understandable!

                    @ all:
Great to hear you like it! Makes me happy too.

It's possible to convert the jpgs into bmp etc., change color / contrast and then OCR and translate it.

Just finding the best soft for such task - at best with batch-function...

I'm shure in a few years alot more metal-detectors and of course magnetometers will have little monitors and aren't anymore that expensive, so much more treasure-hunters can see what's in the ground.

                    @ Qiaozhi
cOoL that you know that book already!
