      The first one is wrong.

The second (right hand) is the proper differential amp. IMHO.

        Re: what I did mean

        Ok my dear friend !

I see, but, if the Eldorado and some others schematics from Tesoro have RX coil connected to ground, it seems that it is not the case for the Bandido. (see Carl's schematic)
But I prentend nothing and I remain attentive.
        Regards

            Re: Bandido II revised schematic

            Gary, the XR4151 is a Voltage-to-Frequency Converter !

Well i can replace with a Voltage converter/inverter like the 7660. (a little expansive)

                  Re: what I did mean

The first one works, but the ground has to be connected at the end of the coil cable (in the coil). Not on the PCB.
otherwise, the cable participate to the detection and each time you move the cable, it is beeping ! not stable at all !
                  I have experimented it (

Re: The first one is wrong.

As far as I know, all Tesoro designs have the RX coil hooked up differentially. The coil has no ground connection.

Now, I happen to have a copy of a genuine Tesoro schematic, and it shows the RX coil grounded, even though it's really not. I was once told that Tesoro (and other manufacturers as well) put intentional errors in their schematics. Seems rather silly to me, but there you have it.

                        Re: Bandido II revised schematic

                        Ok Gene, Dave, Gary, Carl....

Most significant was to agree at least with the schematic and the values of the components.

The polemic with the ground connection of the cable can be easily checked.

                        Do you agree ?

SORRY ABOUT THAT, That 7660 Was What I Ment to Say.

                          BRAIN DEAD.

So Do you think that would be a Good Idea????

                          Take care..........Gary

                            Yes and No

Surely not in case of improvement.
