  • Bandido II revised schematic

    Hi,

This is a revised schematic with the corrected components values from Gary. It include the Battery check mod done by Carl.

I'm working on a new PCB.

    Hi Driscoll,

professional work. Maybe you can add the extended saltwater circuit to the schematic as well.

      Re: Bandido II revised schematic

      Well,

I have a commercial Bandido II and I did not integrate the mod because the Bandido fulfills this mission perfectly.

        Re: Bandido II revised schematic

op amp input has not a relation to Ground - is typical mistake, much times has been discussed here.

but all is very cool anyway..

Excellent re-drawing of schematic. Looks great! Now we need pc boards , I will buy 3!!. If they become available e-mail me or post a message. Also coil winding data would be nice to learn. Thank-you Have a great Week ! Gene

            2 cents

you can also add 2 Tone ID on one switch, you used for power indicator. I did release that in Volksturm SS, if you read this forum.

            regards

              Salt mode.

There is my salt mode schematic again
I worked on this and field tested for a while. Keep in mind that in salt mode you will also detect iron. Therefore it was not really worth the trouble. But it proves it can be done.

                Switch revision

This switch has a type of binary coded operation. They call it a SP3T. I have this installed and it makes a lot more sense to have a switch like this. Only one switch and you get disc mode, all metal, or all metal momentary with normal tuning for pinpoint. It is a $10 switch though.

                  Re: Tone

I find the tone a lot more pleasing if you add a fourth diode to IC1 Q5.

                    Re: Bandido II revised schematic

One thing I was not very happy with is the Minus Supply Circuit.
Why not change it to an XR4151 or Simular Type IC?

It will probably take up less space and give a Better and more stable Negative Supply.

                      VCO Plus

I think to do it for Volksturm... new option. you can take it to update of your project. to you attention very effective and simple logarithmic VCO has been offered by Ciklon and Anker.

                        Bandido Revised Schematic Mistake

The LED's on the battery test would require a connection to ground and not -V in order to work. OK, its a small correction but it is worth mentioning in case someone is trying to make a PCB. Dave. * * *

                          Decoupling caps

Here is a list of the 0.1 decoupling caps
connected from pin 8 to pin 4 (I wonder if a cap on each rail to ground would be more stable):

                          IC7 C11
                          IC10 C26
                          IC9 C40
                          IC6 C27
                          IC5 C41
                          IC3 C35

I never get feed back on this!

Is it not clear, or is it not useful?

                              Hi,

I read your messages and I will apply your recommendations. What I it does not understand is the message of KT315: "op amp input has not a relation to Ground - is typical mistake, much times has been discussed here."

You have to know i'm french...

So, KT315 what want you to say exactly ?
