I"m make this detector and i dont know why not work.
I need make new board ...all new.
I"m see some changes in schema and this confuse me.
Q from 32 kHz is beautiful solution.
I have Q-40 kHz but some hobists from espanya ( EA ) make same detector without complementary pair transistorc (? BC PNP-NPN).
This confuse me .
I think make tvo detectors .
Delta pulse and Stuart and compare who is better. HI HI.
OK.
Sommething is very big mistery .
How calculate coil for Stuart? Diameter, wire, number wires, etc.
I finaly stay with Stuart but in schema have somme bugs.
I"m find old schema , and sommething new and i try compare changes.
Then i try make new design board.
I try with free Eagle program or klasic carbon pencil.

If i need sommething i make new post and you know what hapend with project.

I bought the Stuart PI as a kit from Magenta. It made things easier. I also built the Stuart Microcontroller PI which is a good improvement:

Anyway, coil can be made from 27 turns .71mm wire on a 190mm diameter form. No Faraday shield is needed.
