hi to all
i build the surf pi with oxygen007 pcb with correct legs of bc337 and it work but its performance is very bad, only 2-3cm for 1 inch brass coin!!! can anybody help me to solve this problem? please

i use 220uf 25v for c13,14,15 - 9 volt battery - .536mH coil( for examination)
and 78l05 is very heat when i connect battery( irf9640 too)

if something is wrong .. 78L05 heats in the sense that something's wrong .. check transistors, power-5v (icl7660) and follow up with more ..

detector is designed to work on 12v 9v not so and that's wrong

IRF can be heated and due to the increased frequency = 9v 9v .. but unlikely .. check in T1(bc327)area and source of -5v .. there is problem 80%

Definately use 12v or sensitivity decreases - surf pi coil should be 280 - 350uH ?

today i made 350uH coil but no difrence yet!, first that i installed the pcb, the BC337was incorrect installed and did very hot but i chenge the legs and it work so can problem in BC337? may be burned? and other thing, my BC327 is BC32725 ; i use 10k for thrshold and 100k for P1 and Delay and 1k for volume. other thing is true according to oxygen07`s layout. one thing: i use 240pf for C17.
i dont have scope so can you tell me how i should chek power-5v (icl7660)? can you please explain this dear cristi71? can i use a DMM?

i today test my surf with 12v but no difrence yet. every opinion maybe can help me to solve this problem.

dear silver , check with a voltmeter if voltages of +5 V and-5V are correct. long at the voltage regulators are very hot, somewhere there is a large current consumption. and you can check this with an ampermeter. regards..
