  • Schematic for Minelab GPX-4500 battery box

Does anyone have or know where I might find a schematic for the GPX-4500 battery box?

I would like to build a smaller and lighter battery box for the 4500.
I think there is a battery charger and maybe a audio amp in the factory battery box.
I am planning to use a smaller battery, external charger and headphones.

I know there are several aftermarket ones but I would like to go even smaller and lighter.

    GP 3000 missing battery

I've come across a GP3000 unit for sale without battery.
Is there anything special about the battery circuit that I may not make it myself?
What does a replacement typically cost if I need to buy the missing stuff?

bklein the GP3000 just uses a 6 volt lead acid batter, there is no audio cct inside it,the battery is a bit heavy to go posting it,yer better off buying a new battery.

Thanks Zed, 2011 thread.. I since have a second GP Extreme I bought as a prototype for my mods. My main Extreme has the Coiltek camcorder battery device. I intend to use two 3000ma li-ion cells in a fatshshark battery box along with a Bluetooth transmitter for the audio. Have the parts, just haven’t done it yet. I only hunt beaches and it remains to be too heavy and perhaps susceptible to the salt air. Might put the box on my chest or just give up and stick with the CTX, which also is getting too heavy to swing for hours. Bought a second one to see what I can do there too.

I know how you feel bklein,at my age the control boxes are getting on the heavy side too.You know i used to swing them with an 18" mono all day long, not now.
